I'm a undergraduate student and I want to go to medical school. But I have a 2 year old daughter and I need to start my career now. I been thinking about going into nursing but I always wanted to be a doctor. I'm going to get my B.S in nursing but can I still go to medical school after that. Can you work as a nurse part time while in medical school

Have you considered becoming a nurse practitioner? You could go to nursing school and get your basic degree, then continue toward becoming a practitioner while working. You do many of the same things as a doctor...see patients, prescribe, etc.

Another alternative would be a physician assistant.

Just a thought.

Technically you can. But it would be very hard to find the time and energy for med school, a part time nursing job, and a two year old.

Good luck, whatever you decide.
