Was it the Gentile Romans soldiers who nailed Him to the cross?
Was it Pontius Pilot, who tried to release Him, but eventually gave in?
Was it the leader of the Jewish Sanhedrin, the Pharisees, and/or the Sadducees?
Was it the mob of Jews who demanded the Romans to “Crucify Him!”?
Was it Judas, for betraying Him?
Was it God the Father? (See Isaiah 53:10!)
Was it Jesus Himself? (See John 10:14-18!)
And/or most importantly:
Was it YOU?
Is this not the essential Gospel message, the very core of Biblical Christianity, and what it means to be a true Christian?
= = =
So, what is YOUR CHOICE:
1) Do you accept responsibility for the death of Jesus Christ – believing that He died on the cross for your sins, clothe yourself in His righteousness, and freely receive the gracious gift of eternal salvation?
2) Or instead, do you blame someone else – and instead, dare to stand before God naked, with your sins unforgiven and for all to see, doomed to justly go to hell?

The holes in his hands are there because of ME, the holes in his feet are there because of ME
The thorns on his head are there because of ME
The hole in his side there because of ME,
and what about the flesh that was ripped from his back that too was because of ME.
WOW, to think that God loved me that much, and to go through all that with no hesitation, no thaught... He carried that cross miles and miles with Pride, Love and no regrets, not once looking back why?? BECAUSE OF ME. what an awesome God! I have accepted him, and blame NO one but me. The bible says when we get to heaven, and we meet Christ face to face, we will still see thoose wounds on him, as a reminder to us of his perfect love and grace.
when I wake up I look at my hands and feet, and praise God for dying FOR MY SIN! I am now pure, whole, and alive! Thank you Jesus!

Rabbinical sources record that forty years prior to the destruction of the Temple in A.D. 70, the Romans forbade the Jewish authorities to administer the death penalty. This means this right was taken away around A.D. 30, shortly before the Crucifixion.
The reason the Sanhedrin (the Jewish governing body that sentenced Jesus to death) sought the Romans' sanction, whereas the mobs that tried to stone Jesus did not, is that the Sanhedrin was a formal court, located in Jerusalem; they would have been identifiable and answerable under Roman law. The mobs, on the other hand, were anonymous groups trying to dispense vigilante justice. Lynch mobs do not observe the legal requirements of administering the death penalty. If they did, they wouldn't be lynch mobs.

Dear Yachadho,
My choice is -
1) Do you accept responsibility for the death of Jesus Christ – believing that He died on the cross for your sins, clothe yourself in His righteousness, and freely receive the gracious gift of eternal salvation?
The magnitude of this really struck me when I went to an Alpha retreat four years ago. We sang Were You There When They Crucified My LORD? as we went into the sanctuary and our music leader used a wooden mallet and a block to provide the sound effects. As he hammered that second nail I was completely overwhelmed by sobbing because I realized that Jesus suffered such agony so that I didn't have to.
What an awesome God we serve!
For His glory,

I'll go with #1...or perhaps all of the above depending on what you mean by killed?
I didn't nail him to the cross, or fail to release him, or ask the Romans to crucify him, or betray him to his enemies...I didn't even exist when he died...but I know that he died for me...but does that mean I killed him? If I throw myself in front of a vehicle to save my son, is he responsible for killing me? I have a hard time seeing it that way. Jesus died because he chose to do so...he certainly could have stopped any one of the groups you mentioned, but he decided we were more important than his earthly body.
..but for me, the who killed him part isn't nearly as important as the fact that he didn't stay dead! Consider this question, can someone who is immortal really be killed? Jesus isn't dead now, so what's the point of trying to pin his murder on someone? Why did he suffer and give up his mortal body on earth...to show us the way to do the same when our mortal body dies!

As you point out, Jesus said that no one could take his life from him John 10:14-18. It is this willing sacrifice that is essential to the atonement.
Jesus sacrificed himself for my sin however he did it solely because he wanted to. For his pleasure. You way over estimate the abilities and importance of any created being having any ability to kill God in the flesh.
So while your premise is correct (Jesus died for our sins) you explain it incorrectly saying sinful man killed him. Had he not willingly submitted to the crucifixion it would not have happened.
--edit inat you are almost correct! You are dead on that the trial was unlawful. However you should know that this was a fulfillment of Old Testament prophecy! If anything it is greater evidence that it really happened. These things were recorded prior to the destruction of the Temple and would would have been easily exposed as fraudulent. However, the account was never disputed by the Jewish authorities. Only Jesus' claim to deity was disputed.

Humankind executed Him. Jesus died for "All of us"...We are all sinners and deserve death. He willingly suffered and gave His life, to give us Hope for a New and Glorious future. He gives us this Free Gift, no strings attached. It is out of His enormous Love for all of His creation, not by anything we do, not by our "Works" not by our prestige or clout, it is a Free gift, a gift of Love given to all races, nations and peoples.
This Free gift is based on what Christ Jesus has done, the promise that He made to all of us. He paid the price, He sacrificed, He performed His own marvelous and miraculous works. We simply Praise Him and acknowledge Him in all of our ways. Jesus receives all the Glory. God Bless You.

God gave His son for our sins, and that we could go to heaven plus being forgiven for those sins. This was God's plan to save mankind from their evil ways. Our decision to chose evil, was the reason for the necessity for the birth and sacrifice of Jesus as per God's permission for this to transpire. All the other people were playing their parts to make this plan happen. It was God's sacrifice for our wrong doing through His love for us.

I didn't kill Jesus. I didn't exist when he was reputedly crucified.
Also, your logic is flawed - if somebody died for me, that would not necessarily mean that I killed them.
Many people died heroically trying to defend the UK against the Nazi threat - that is a verifiable fact. I owe the fact that I live in relative freedom to them, but I did not kill them.
