You do NOT forget... but what you DO do is live your life like every day is the beautiful GIFT that it is... you SURVIVED cancer--that is a VERY BIG DEAL and hopefully it will NOT come back, but if it DOES, you KNOW you can lick it because you already DID it once.... so why worry? I was recently diagnosed with not one but TWO TERMINAL ILLNESSES---I have very little time left, but I am NOT dwelling on that---what I AM doing is living life to the fullest.. I bought a boat and a new EXPENSIVE camera and I'm going on trips and planning on Africa and living my life BETTER then before but filling it with more of the good things in life... in THAT way, I am able to ignore my illnesses---although at night I am strapped to an oxygen machine and many pills to take. You CANNOT forget what you went through--because it is what helps to make YOU who YOU ARE and who you WILL be in the future!!!!! Every experience in life is a tool to LEARN SOMETHING... (even the bad experiences) ....WHAT you do with those experiences will determine HOW you live with them. Don't worry about the things you cannot change.... just take care of those you CAN and live each day as happily as you can!!!!

I am really sorry honey, that you have been through this at such a young age. It is a bummer isn't it?. I am a 7 year cancer survivor, I have never forgotten either, but, you cannot let it control you. You must remember this, if you do remember anything else, worrying about it and letting it be you everyday thought will only keep you in the past. Find a good support group. Do not let it consume you, it will only harm you more. Live life today. Cancer does not have to be the one to end your life so don't make it a priority. We can control our own lives, do not give in to cancer. It is hard and takes time but I am a survivor and you can be one too. Talk to me if you would like. I would love to hear from you. I hope that I can help you help others. We are not the only ones you know. If a child as young as 3yrs old can have hope, we should have too. God Bless.

Hi, I'm 15 too, and I had cancer almost 8 years ago. It's just something you will never forget about. I suggest getting some cancer survivor books, I have 2 and they really help me. I am also very worried about my cancer coming back one day.. I don't think I'll ever get over it. Maybe you can go see a Psychologist or someone who can help you. I'm sorry I can't help you forget about it, but I just want you to know that your not the only one going through this! Good Luck!!

Hey honey :)
I've not been through cancer myself, so i'm not even going to try to imagine what you went through. But I'm happy you got through it :) well done ^.^
i do have my own ongoing medical worries etc though so i can understand to some extent about the hospital side of it and how stressful and worrying it can be. I'm 16 btw.
Have you been to see a counsellor or perhaps even a school nurse or someone about how you're feeling? That can really help. Even if it's just a trusted friend or adult who could listen. It's not good to keep your worries bottled up inside x
Try not to let it be all you think about, because it'll stop you moving on and enjoying life, and you deserve to be happy :].
Focus on the future and realise that you were strong enough to leave cancer behind so you're strong enough to carry on without it. It's not a part of you now, and you can't let it hold you back or rule your life.
I really admire you for dealing with such a huge thing at such a young age, and I really hope you can get through this stage, because nobody deserves to feel like that with such a big weight on their shoulders. Especially you. You shouldn't have had to deal with this now. But you can't let it hurt you anymore. You should let it make you into a stronger person and feel like you can take on anything, because you can :)
You really should consider talking to somebody if you're comfortable enough to yet. It really will help you to sort out how you feel and move on x and i promise you'll feel better one day. Probably sooner than you think.
keep smiling, sweetie :). You can get through this (: xx love cat

Sweetie, I am so sorry you went through that. The best thing you can do is find a cancer survivors group in your area. They will probably be listed in the newspaper or you can use your Internet search engine. I'm sure there are many people who feel vulnerable as you do and it will help to be around like-minded people. All my best.

If you are finished talking about it, you just try to get on with your life as best you can. I can't imagine you could forget something like that. Just involve yourself in the things you used to do if they still appeal to you. It was a rough time. It is now a part of you.

If you are not on anti depressants and/or anti anxiety, get on them.
After that, you will never forget. It will be on your mind every day, atleast in passing. Every doc apt, every illness, every bump and bruise. I wish I had a better answer for you, but i dont.

Try hypnoses, if that does not work the pain will fade over time.
