I never heard of writing a thank-you letter after an interview. I am certain that it will make absolutely NO difference to your job prospects. Either they liked you from the interview, in which case you can expect a letter or phone call offering you a job in the next few days, or they didn't. If they are a decent company they might bother to send you a rejection letter, but an awful lot don't even do that, so you can give them a follow up phone call if you haven't heard anything after a week.

Maybe I'm in the dark but I've never heard of a "Thank You" letter being sent to someone because they gave you an interview. Like for a job? If you are sending one because you interviewed them for a magazine, that is nice.Just tell them that you do appreciate them taking the time from their busy schedule to let you interview them. That it was very important for your career as a journalist. That should be good enough.

I remember writing a thank you letter one time and I got the job I believe because of it. What I wrote was just plane and simple. Just the fact that you send a thank you note Could put you ahead of the other's because you took the time to send a thank you note.
What I put in my Thank you letter was this.
Dear (name of the business)
Thank you for your time for the interview on this date (You put in the date and time)
I enjoyed meeting you.
Then from that go into putting in some of your best reason's why you think you are the best for the job.
Sincerely......

Thank you for meeting with me. I appreciate the opportunity. I really feel like I'm a good fit for your company and hope to hear from you regarding a potential career with you.
You can compliment the office, the people you met with (make sure you address it to them).
