No, and I don't know why anyone would. People need to be happy with the time they've got.
There's an important point that people overlook when they fantasize about "eternal bliss", and that's the "eternal" part. If there's one thing that is certain about being human, it's that we have an immense capacity to adapt, or to grow accustomed to any situation. No matter how awesome heaven might sound like, superficially ("There's grandma, and there's Spot, and there's a chocolate waterfall..."), you would grow used to it, eventually.
Take heroin, for example: the first shot is amazing, better than anything on Earth, and the second, and the third...sure, but after a while, you need more to get the same rush, and pretty soon, you would need a lethal dose to get the same experience as your first hit. After a while, your demand for bliss would outstrip even Heaven's ability to supply.
Some might say, "but eternity is timeless". If that were the case, then you're already there, so stop talking about how to get there, already. And in any case, if it were truly timeless, you wouldn't be able to do or feel anything. All experiences play out over time. I think people who argue this are simply trying to sound "deep", or whatever. Bah.

I'd only want an afterlife if I could spend eternity living on a marijuana plantation adjacent to an amusement park and a stripper factory.
Hope that made you laugh.
Seriously, I don't believe there is an afterlife. And I wouldn't want an afterlife unless is was clearly superior to this life. Reincarnation would be pointless. Brown nosing God and being at his every beck and call would be a step back to me. But I really have no reason to believe that there is any type of afterlife and I'm okay with that. 1 life is cool with me.

I agree with what some people said, about how heaven sounds like it would get boring after a while. Then again, perhaps heaven is a state of no want so we wouldn't even know boring. But then again with that, to know boring we need to know fun, and vice versa, so I think it's kind of a silly idea. I do hope that there's some sort of reincarnation perhaps, or some kind of life on another plane. It would stink if all of our experiences and knowledge just went to waste except for being pages of history and glint of memory. But if there's nothing after, what does it really matter? We won't know until we get there, so I don't think it's something to worry about.

I haven't seen a religion with an afterlife I really cared for, even 72 virgins would get old after a couple of hundred years, unless of course you could swap them for 72 more virgins when they got dull...
The Viking afterlife sounds pretty sweet though, battling all day and partying all night.
Personally, I'd prefer to have immortality. An eternity of anything would get old, but immortality would ensure that one had different experiences to at least look forward to.
Sadly, both are only wishful thinking.

I am in one of many, many after lives. God gave us all we need in this reality, and we need to use our talents and will power, to take on the problems of this world, and not think that after we die, we will enter some eternal alternative reality, that is not in balance, like the balanced one we are now in. We need to keep our focus on the only reality that really counts, the one we exist in and will continue to exist in, in future lives. We can make this world a better place, if we would all try to do our best at contributing our talent and skills, to addressing the very serious problems we have in this world today. God would like this,

shows the hubris of the fundie position. I don't believe in the Judeo Christian traditions--but I most definately believe in an afterlife. There is at least some soft evidence out there to suggest some amount of truth to the paranormal. There is nothing out there to support the Judeo-Christian diety--most of the hoohaa was plagarized from ancient egyptian beliefs.

Well, as an atheist, I realize want and reality are two very different things. That said, I personally would prefer interspecies reincarnation. I can't really fathom an eternity without any form of challenge (IE Heaven). That just seems awfully boring to me.

You have two possibibility or whatever: Eternal boredom in heaven or eternal agony in hell.
Would anyone wish for that?
Even the people that believe and all that heaven/hell stuff don't want to wish for it --
What would an atheist wish for it for?.
