I considered this, just so i could run free vegetable oil....
diesels are very efficient, and their "pro's" are seriously outweighing their "con's" lately...
The "costly processing" is a filter, thats all....
if you purchased pure vegetable oil, you wouldn't even have to filter it(it's been filtered), but if you use "used" oil, then you have to filter out the crumbs and scum....and i've NEVER heard of anyone getting pulled over for using veg oil in their diesel, ever...

Here, Diesel costs 25-cents more per-gallon than regular.
Driving 12000 miles per year, cost per year:
25 mpg Gasoline engine: $1457
30 mpg Diesel engine: $1310
Even though the fuel is more expensive, the yearly cost to drive a diesel car would be less than a gasoline car.
Reduce the MPG of the diesel car and they're almost equal:
25 mpg Gasoline engine: $1457
27 mpg Diesel engine: $1456
The MPG tipping point is 8%. As long as the Diesel car gets at least 8% better MPG than the comparative Gasoline car, then it will be cheaper to run a diesel, even though diesel fuel is more expensive.

>Diesel is Expensive
>Sometimes Hard To Find
>Not Available In All States
>Cars Cost More
I would personally not get it because it cost more and CA, MA and some other states, diesel does not pass emissions

Good question. Around here, the price of diesel fuel is far above the price of gasoline so the greater diesel mileage is more than cancelled.
As for the "free" veggie oil, it won't run straight but must be processed AND if you get a fuel audit on the highway and they do not find tax-paid fuel in your tank, you will get a costly citation.

If it is a quality diesel car then yes! Volkswagen and Mercedez benz make GREAT diesel cars. They will run FOREVER like trucks and don't cost as much to maintain as a gasoline car. Just make sure you like the outside of the diesel car because you will be looking at it forever

right this is what you are able to attempt in case you like to pass the $1000 restore invoice. Siphon out as lots of the diesel as attainable and fill it with primary gas. replace the gasoline filter out, which will enable maximum of it to empty out of the lines. Run the vehicle. Diesel burns, it does not explode like gas, that's why your motor vehicle is working extraordinarily. gas in a diesel is a extreme situation because it burns and the engine isn't equipped to handle it, yet diesel interior the gas isn't as undesirable in case you're able to manage to no longer plug the injectors with debris (diesel calls for greater gasoline filtration) or ruin your catalytic converters (is your verify engine easy flashing? if so, difficulty pertaining to to the converters, yet whilst no longer, you're no longer there yet). Run some injector cleanser by it if it runs ok after a jiffy. If my preliminary plan fails, you will could desire to have the tank dropped, lines flushed, injectors flushed, quite a gasoline device complete scrub, that's horribly high priced, so i could attempt the $15 gasoline filter out, $25 siphon and $10 bottle of injector cleanser (get the solid stuff, no longer the kerosene) first.

What is a diseal car? Do you mean diesel? If that is what you mean...no it is not worth buying because of the cost of diesel fuel and maintenance.

You misspelled "diesel." In the US, cars with diesel engines are very rare. Diesel fuel costs about 30 cents a gallon more than regular gas. If you want to save on fuel, it would be way cheaper to buy a smaller car with a smaller engine.

"Diesel" is about $3.39 per gallon where I live. Plus, not every station sells diesel. Unless you need a diesel truck for the power and towing capacity, I'd say no.
