My UK passport runs out in less then 6 months, will i have any problems getting in to canada?? im only going for 5 days over new years eve.

No, you are fine. Some countries require certain visitors to have 6 months minimum. But Canada only requires that UK visitors have a valid passport. That means that it is valid for your whole trip. If you are flying in with a ticket showing you are flying out in 5 days then you are even better off. Keep in mind, you should usually travel with time on your passport for emergency and unexpected circumstances. AND also keep in mind, a border agent may occasionally deny entry to someone who they find suspicious. However, if they ask, and you answer questions honest, like you didn't have enough time to renew, should be acceptable. Passport renewal here takes forever right now, and it means they may run into this a lot.
As a Canadian Citizen, I traveled to the US and back with my passport expiring on the day after I got back to Canada. Then I have a mental block on how many months it took to renew.
Here is a good link to the Canadian Government Tourism pages whose info only says "carry a valid passport."

not sure about Canada but i am going to India this December, passport runs out in April 08, have had to apply for a new passport, try tripadvisor.com. you will find out loads on this site, me from UK too

No you've got 6 months left, now if you only had a week left then yes you would
If in doubt ring the passport people.

Iv merely been on the united kingdom GOV internet site . . as my passport expires 23/11/2015 and that i fly out to Spain on the 9th and return back interior the united kingdom the sixteenth Nov 2015, this is in common terms fantastic !! No issues in any respect.

yes you should get it renewed you should not travel if your within 6 months of your passport running out regardless of the duration of your stay.
