He probably does like you, but just doesn't know what to say. The next time you speak to him, try to find a common ground, like things you both like or things you both don't like. This can help with making the conversation a little longer so that you can try to read his signs to figure out where he's coming from. If you think he likes you, let him know you like him too. What's the worst that could happen? It's not the end of the world or anything. When you are with your whole group of friends just join in the conversation and try to include him in it like with a question or a joke. That's always a good icebreaker. Good Luck

I think that maybe you both like each other and he is probably feeling the same way you feel. Therefore he might not talk to you when other people around cuz he probably thinks your ingnoring him. You probably don't even look at him bcuz u don't wanna look stupid and it's probably the same with him. I'd suggest you break the ice next time u see him and people are around...find an excuse...something... and be like "Hey there I forgot to ask you... or wanted to invite you..." and then you will find out for sure if he likes u or not by his reaction. It's better to feel stupid ONE time (if he doesn't react that way u'd like him to) than having that doubt "forever" ...

Next time you're conversing "in the crowd" pull him away and talk to him one on one and see what happens. Make sure you have something to say that interests him -- don't talk about the weather.

Different days different moods, doesn't mean he likes you any more today and less tomorrow, I'm pretty sure he enjoys your friendship or else he wouldn't bother talking to you at all.
Don't sweat it and there is absolutely nothing to feel stupid about.

I'll bet you're a female, because males don't tend to need as much interaction of a verbal nature.
Just let him be quiet when he needs to be.
He'll come around when the time is right.

Leave him alone ,If he's interested in you let him make the first move. Treat him like a casual acquaintance .He seems like all-temperature Cheer to me. HOT, WARM& COLD.

Why don't you ask him out? If he says yes then he likes you.
