2c water to 1c rice.
I like my rice flaky as so it's not sticky so I use 1 3/4 c of water to one cup of rice.

When cooking rice you should use a 2 to 1 ratio. If you use one cup of rice, you should use 2 cups of water. If you use 2 cups of rice you should use 4 cups of water.

I think it depends on how much water you put in...I haven't tried it (because usually I want my rice to turn out nice for dinner), but eventually, it will turn into a paste, if you add enough water and let it cook long enough.
To make it like you'd want to eat it, you'll want to add 2 cups of water to 1 cup of rice.
I think that if you want to experiment with how much water it would potentially absorb, you'd want to test this several times, with more water going into each subsequent batch, until you have a batch that has unabsorbed water at the top after cooking it. In order for your experiment to be truly scientific, you would probably have to repeat all of these with different cooking times (20 minutes, 30 minutes, 40 minutes for example).
