i love bbca, there are so many bloody good shows from across the pond,
jekyll, dr who, torchwood, top gear & so much more!

so i was wondering if we have a station over there that showcases some of our great tv shows like, uh... ehh... hmmm...

well, ok maybe we don't have as great of shows, but the point is still that we (americans) should have a channel for the brits to sit down & gawk at!

There was until recently ABC1,a cable and satellite channel run by ABC. It went off the air when it couldn't get a suitable slot on the Sky Television satellite (Sky Television is basically a suite of preminum cable/satellite channels owned by NewsCorp [a/k/a Fox]).

The BBC,ITV,Channel 4 and Five (plus the many Freeview [digital over-the-air] channels) purchase American programming from the international syndication market and directly from the producers themselves.

since teh gov't owns the BBC, they buy episodes from producers. like syndication.

ITV and Granada are privately owned and buy some, too.

Most programs are anywhere from a week to a season behind the US.
