Thanks. No names needed.
Just address as listed.
You can write in the card Dear Soldier or Dear Hero or whatever you'd prefer.
I thought this would be a great place to post this info.

Ted, The good has got to outweigh the bad. There is always a chance for something being sullied. Thanks for your caution.

Char,

This is a wonderful idea! People can also find a local Veterans Administrations hospital and do the same thing there.

Also, my children and I did something one Christmas at our local hospital that could also be done at any VA hospital as well. We just made up some small candy bags with individually wrapped candy, tied them up with some Christmas ribbon and actually went to the hospital and delivered them to the patients that were confined to the hospital on Christmas. The patients loved it and many said it made their day as they had no family or friends to visit with them on Christmas. There is no way to describe the feeling that comes from doing this! That year, that was what my girls actually received for Christmas (it was lesson year!)and now that they are grown, they say that it was the best Christmas that they ever had! We are planning another one of these trips again this year!

All you have to do is contact the admittance office or Administrator of the hospital and let them know what you want to do and they will tell you how many people are there. Then, you can make up some extras for any last minute admittances!

I strongly encourage everyone to do something of this nature during Christmas or any other time of year. It is a known fact that there are more people who suffer from depression during the holiday season than any other time of year. I used to be one of them until I started doing this. I found that there has never been any drug that could cure depression better than this!

I wish you all the best during the holiday and throughout the year and thank you so much for posting this on Answers!

I hate to be a wet blanket, but have you checked with the hospital?

"Rev." Fred Phelps, the man voted less attractive than an intestinal parasite by 99% of everyone who has ever met him, used to go around to soldiers' funerals holding up signs saying they deserved to die, since God was punishing the USA for not stoning homosexuals to death fast enough. (I didn't say he was sane or logical, just that at last report he was still taking up space; space that could better be used as a dung heap.)

He lost an $11 million lawsuit recently, which is why I thought of him.

All a soldier or marine would need would be one evil-minded card in a batch to ruin his (her) day.

I think you have a great idea. I hope I'm wrong.
