well by reading all the questions and comments I concluded that the majority of Atheists here, somehow they believe in God ( even though they say no).Nobody knows what's inside of them, or what's inside their mind! because you can say something but you are thinking otherwise!

so I believe that Atheists ( not all but many) just simply don't want to Believe in God! maybe they think is hard, it is not easy to follow God because is by faith not by sight! (Romans 9)

I'd never believe some atheists here! They do believe in God secretly Deep inside their mind, they ... just don't want to believe in God.

Well, that's another thing you are wrong about.
"I contend that we are both atheists. I just believe in one fewer god than you do. When you understand why you dismiss all the other possible gods, you will understand why I dismiss yours."
Stephen Roberts
Weak arguments such as Martin's Pascal's Wager are only deserving of one response- *Cheers*

I'm sure a lot of the "athiests" are probably agnostics...they believe in something, just not in a way that goes along with any major religions.

Personally, I grew up in a Christian family, and have gathered from all I've seen that organized religion has done more harm than good. I think you should take what you know, and figure it out on your own. You say that it's not easy to follow God...but what you're saying is it's not easy to stick to the rules that the church has set up for you. I just don't like the idea of basing the well being of my immortal soul on a book that was compiled, edited, and basically created by a huge religious organization, to be distributed to the unknowing masses. I like to think that we inherently have a good idea of what's right and wrong from our own instincts, and we should probably pay more attention to that then a whole ton of little nit-picky rules.

There are probobly also people who say the believe in God, but really don't.

There are many reasons people could do this.

Politicians do it all the time for political gain.

Young people do it to please family & friends.

Others WANT to believe in God, but don't . They are going through the motions trying to convince themselves that they believe in God, but they don't.

I'd never believe some theists here! They don;t believe in God secretly Deep inside their mind, they . . .just want to believe in God. They just don't want to believe that after they die, that's it.

In fact, many theists freely admit that the idea of there not being a God or an afterlife is just too scary, and they don't understand how non-theists can live without a belief in God. Proof that God belief is more of a security blanket than a true belief for some.

Since the existence of God cannot be proven nor disproven, except through faith, I find that atheism has no more substance than that of a fundamentalist believer.

That is, atheists are quick to dismiss God as a fantasy or human creation, while those "on the other side" are convinced he is real. In truth, neither side (as mentioned above) can make a valid argument as to the existence or nonexistence of God.

Having said that, I have a healthy sense of spirituality without any particular regard for literal scripture -or- a sense of having to resign myself to one denomination or another.

And as a result, I am comfortable with my beliefs and don't feel any need to have to defend my personal feelings. Everyone should keep an open mind to spiritual possibilities, and not dismiss or totally embrace that which they seem bound to.

I believe there is some sort of spirit but it isn't a God! The spirit dictates how we live and how we are born! I'm not necessarily atheist but I'm not really a believer in a God that we are expect to follow! I think there are different types of atheists and I know a few that absolutely don't believe in a God or Spirit of any type!. I believe everything that has live has spirit. Spirit is what I believe in not Some God! I useto believe in God but I think the idea of God is for those that want something to follow. It's not for those that want to Lead unless they want to blame something for their own mistakes! I'm not saying their absolutely isn't a God, I'm just saying I don't necessarily believe in a God anymore!. If there is a God then God is probably cruel and unjust cause look at all the suffering that is allowed! If there is a God then God should show us how to stop all the suffering!

I respect all beliefs, but I do have my own opinion and what I don't respect are people that think THEY have the answer... I believe personally there is a God. People say there is no proof that there is... well you can say there is any proof that god doesn't exist! what I have noticed is that alot of but not all people I know that are atheists are judgmental ego-centric and racists(towards believers) people around... and to me it justs re-affirms that most people that I know that do believe are positive, optimistic and caring people... that is ALL I need to feel that obviously something is working to help them! and anyone who wants to attack any persons response on here obviously doesn't respect other opinions and usually isn't a believer... who would want to believe there isn't? or that WE are the sole source of creation? man if we are all there is I find that train of thought to be a little ego-centric because we are FAR from what I would consider to even be all that there is...

Here's where you're going astray: People have a tendency to believe that everyone, at root, believes what they believe. Now, if you surround yourself with people who support your particular set of assumptions and reinforce that set of assumptions, the tendency to project your belief on others increases.

Take, for example, the case of a drunk. He probably associates with other drunks, and eventually believes that everyone drinks the way he and they do. Imagine his surprise and suspicion when he encounters people who don't drink. He will probably come the conclusion that person drinks, but does so in secret.

It's the same thing with your assumption that atheists all really believe what you do. It's an error, but not an uncommon one.

Really, atheists do not believe in divine beings. Other than that, they're just like you.

You are confusing atheists with agnostics. It's okay, we understand. It would be much the same if we called Baptists Catholics; they really aren't the same thing by a long shot.

Atheists believe there is no god. Period. End of statement.
Agnostics believe there might be a god but that we lack any evidence to know if this is true and, if true, what nature god may take.

Your question (or proselytizing statement, which is really what it is) is directed to the agnostics. But you're wasting your time; an agnostic is not going to accept the Bible as proof of anything (indeed, that agnostic has already disdained the bible).

Well, that's a mighty BIG assumption you make, the denial thing. They don't believe because they don't want to believe - not because they are in denial. People are free to pick who they worship or they can choose to worship no deity.

All I can say is that telling someone they really believe in God, they are just in denial about it, is not a good way to open up a line of communication.

That's like when you have picked out a car you want to buy. You go to a lot and you get a salesman that tries to sell you another car. Their line to you is that you really want this other car, you're just in denial about it. That salesman will be out of a job before you know it.

Which God??? There are many different beliefs. Each one has a different version of what and who God or Gods are. You probably believe in the "Father God" idea. Where God is like a man in the sky that looks down on us and rewards us when we are good and punishes us when we are bad. Nothing wrong with that and there is nothing wrong with other peoples beliefs or non beliefs.
