Hell and thanks for taking some time to read my question.

I have been wondering if I should have the Lasik or Intralasik performed in my eyes. If you can tell me what the risks are for each procedure as well as their benefits and a price range if it possible. I don't have any major health issues and I consider myself in good health.

Any advice will really help me to make this decision.

Thanks again

Well, if it were ME, I would ask the surgeon what would be best for my situation, my tear layer, my corneal thickness. What are the differences in results with people that have had both done with my same sort of refractive error. There are too mnay variables to make a real educated decision from what you have told me. You really do not get to make the final decision on your own. Your Doctor needs to make that decision with you considering all the information that is yours alone. IT is not like picking the color of a shirt you are buying. Ask your doctor these questions and make sure you can get the best Doctor you can find. These are EYES, not hubcaps!

Do you mean IntraLase?

Basically the difference between the two is that in regular LASIK a blade is used to cut the flap and in IntraLase LASIK the laser cuts the flap. Using the laser results in fewer flap complictions, in particular, it makes a button flap, fully cutting the flap (no hinge) and lost flap impossible. The only down side is slightly longer time to use post surgical drops and slightly longer healing time.

The laser centre I refer to now only offers IntraLase as the surgeons refuse to use a blade to cut due to increased risk of lost flap.

Both procedures carry certain risks.

This isn't really the answer to your question, but I wanted to inform you that besides eye surgery, there is another way to improve your vision called natural vision correction and it's completely safe. It consists of various eye exercises and techniques that can improve your eyesight. They do work despite what others say, but require persistence. Just practice them every day and you will notice improvements quickly.

I was able to improve my own vision with eye exercises.

Hope this helps!

Best regards,
