I normally don't send cards out to people during the holidays, but this year I decided to do so. I also wrote a form letter to go with the greeting card. The card itself will be personalized with my Holiday wishes but there is also the letter that I typed up to go with it, with this year's new and happenings. I've gotten them in the past and I don't mind them, but some people think of them as insensitive and unsociable. What do you think and why? I'm just curious about your opinions and there isn't a right or wrong answer.

Thanks Suki! That's a good idea. I didn't think of that. I will do that.

Only send these letters to friends who are genuinely interested in what you and your family have been doing in the last year. But write the recipient's name and yours by hand.

it depends on the letter. If it's a letter bragging about all of the accomplishments you/your family have had this year it's boring. If it's the kind that says my husbands aunt passed away so we had to blah, blah, blah. If it's informative with things friends might like to know and brief then they're OK. Nobody wants to read a page or more of the fabulous vacation you took and how hubby bought you a 4 carat diamond, got a 6 figure bonus and a 5 figure raise, the kids are excelling in everything they attempt etc........
This is just my personal opinion though.

Well... I hope you have it on your word processor and you can make quick, easy changes to personalize each one.

Just changing the salutation and first/last lines and print each one to your friends would go a LONG way to defraying any hurt feelings and depersonalization.

Dear Jack and Jill:

WOW! Has Christmas come already? I remember our summer BBQ when you both and little Joanie were splashing around in the back yard pool!

[body of form letter]

What wonderful memories this year has brought. We look forward to next summer's BBQ, or maybe plan a weekend at the cottage instead! Keep in touch, dear friends!

Sincerely...

== See how really simple it is? Just say something personal about each one you send it to, and they will appreciate that YOU remembered and cared enough to remember, too.

Have a polite day.

I deliver Christmas enjoying cards to human beings I consult with on a greater known foundation... close friends and kinfolk and a few friends I made right here. in any different case... i do no longer deliver to human beings I in no way consult with during the year. i comprehend some human beings deliver enjoying cards as quickly as a year and not something, yet I in no way observed the element to that. variety letters? an identical letter to everybody? lol i like man or woman and understanding I took the time for each man or woman and that they did an identical for me.

Two times I wrote a form letter because I had so much to say. But only made copies of the body of the letter and left room at the top and bottom to hand write the person's name and sign mine.

Also on each one, I wrote a note about their family to make it more personal. This note was written by hand, too.

I really dislike the letters, but I usually read them all. Suki had a good idea, though.

I like to get the letters from my friends and past business associates, I think it is nice to hear from them and I like that they thought enough about me to send a card.

It makes you feel like nothing but another name that has to be crossed off a must do list!

It's ok, but don't just report the good things and hide the bad.
