He was put to death because, as the Pharisees thought, He blasphemed against God Almighty. In John 8:58 He said "B4 Abraham was, I AM." He was calling Himself God.

Jesus didn't do anything wrong to deserve death. Our sins were what resulted in His death. He had to pay the penalty for sin , so we could have eternal life with Him. (which could only have been done by a sinless person)
As for the reason the people of that time tried to execute Jesus was because he was showing the religious leaders of the day their wrongs. The pharisees couldn't handle the truth and wouldn't accept Him, so they had to destroy Him. He was drawing too many people away from the Pharisees teaching.
I am sure it could happen today. Pressure from the people and religious factions could cause the death of someone. I don't doubt it. Lies being spread about people have caused more than a few to be in jail and I am also sure we have executed at least a few innocent people.

He didn't do anything wrong. The people were deceived into killing him. It had to be that way so He would die to take away our sins. If He hadn't died, we'd never be able to get to Heaven. It was God's perfect plan. However, if Jesus had of changed His mind and not gone through it, if He called down a thousand angels to take back to Heaven, then we'd still be in trouble. He did it because He loved us. He didn't do anything to deserve that punishment yet He went through it for us. And don't think it was easy for Him--He was still in the flesh at the time. Only by His death could we be saved. Now all we have to do is ask Him into our heart and accept the free gift of salvation.

He posed a real threat to unseat the powers that be at the Temple in Jerusalem, as He quickly gained followers and believers by the multitudes --whom He helped and healed in the process, while delivering His Message...
It was such a feat that the High Priests could never replicate. And these were the same Pharisees and Sadduccees that He publicly chastised and humiliated during His Ministry. Therefore, they needed to connive to get Him executed by the Romans when their own King Herod failed them.

I think I know where you're going with your final question, silly goose... People would be wearing an 'electric chair' pendant around their necks if Jesus was executed today. Or even a 'syringe' pendant for lethal injection.
LOL.

Peace be with you.

somebody that on no account existed could desire to no longer be killed! The bible is what's called "Faction" A fictional tale set in a actual time and place. subsequently the time, place and genuine historic characters are all maximum suitable however the fictitious characters and memories are no longer! there is not any longer one single point out of Jesus interior the entire Roman record - it rather is sweet - no longer one! on an analogous time as he became meant to have been around there have been particularly some Jews claiming to be the messiah - all of whom are nicely recorded! there is not any longer a single contemporary record from any source or maybe the bible mentions of him like all different references weren't written till some years after his meant demise! He became meant to have been a great subject to the Romans and produced impressive miracles yet nevertheless no longer one contemporary record? Even the bible mentions of him like all different references weren't written till some years after his meant demise! Pilate is recorded interior the Roman record as a rather lack luster guy yet no point out of a Jesus, a tribulation or crucifixion that could desire to certainly have been used to make him look brighter! At maximum suitable he became an amalgam of those others yet merely approximately easily on no account existed!

He told the truth, and there's a reason people have the saying 'the truth hurts'. No one can, nor will, understand the truth about themselves, unless they have been born again. Only then can you examine your wretched state, and praise God that He chose to give His Son the penalty you so justly deserve as His enemy.
Jesus Christ was sinless, thus the lamb without blemish who gave His life to redeem His elect. NOT the whole world in general, but the world of His elect. His sacrifice was sufficient for all, but only efficient for the few.
When He told the truth about the Jews and their state, they hated Him, and put Him to death for it. This does not mean that they alone are to blame, for we all (His elect) crucified Him by our sin.
Praise His amazing grace on those vessels of mercy He has chosen to redeem! Amen.

hello,
Good question,
i guess it was due to the people thought He had the power to make them free from the Romans and to feed the jew army as the 5000, and heal their soliders as he did in sabbath and many other times, and thus defeat Rome.
And the people seeing He had the power to do it :
In their point of view the Messiah would come to deliver them from the Romans and not of their sins.
And in this order of events they had the plan and Jesus the power, but how different was God´s and Jesus plan.
So in Jesus rejecting to agree their plan to defeat Rome, they thought Him a deceiver and came what happened.
"He was in the wilderness in obedience to God, and He would not obtain food by following the suggestions of Satan. In the presence of the witnessing universe, He testified that it is a less calamity to suffer whatever may befall than to depart in any manner from the will of God. "
Greetings
Grace be with you

Jesus did not deserve death.
He was charged with blasphemy, claiming to be the Son of God, the Messiah. He was charged with inciting people to riot, forbidding the people to pay their taxes, and claiming to be King.
The trials of Jesus represent the ultimate mockery of justice. Jesus, the most innocent man in the history of the world, was found guilty of crimes and sentenced to death by crucifixion.

Jesus was convicted by Pontius Pilate because He claimed to be the King of the Jews. This would be a direct usurpation of Roman power and rule, the one thing that got them really bent out of shape. Christ allowed Himself to be convicted to die for the sins of His sheep, and He willingly took this punishment to fulfil all righteousness and scripture.

Jesus rightly claimed to be God and that is one of the reasons that the Jewish leaders wanted to have Him crucified. He didn't do a thing to deserve torture and death on the cross.
