Since yesterday my neck has hurt on the left side.

At certain angles when tilt my head to the right.

In the car when it stops and starts it hurts as well.

Should I get a neckbrace or something? Because otherwise people won't know and I'll just get bashed around in the corridors at school which can't be good for it...

Thanks in advance!

I have disc problems in my neck and it is easy to strain the neck muscles . I must use an ice pack on my neck. It stops pain quickly. 15 minutes tops. If you do this have a layer of cloth bettween you and the ice. Hot packs will increase blood flow, and help heal. Use what ever you please But no more than 15 min using either treatment. good luck and hope you feel better soon.

I don't think you need a neck brace unless you were in some sort of accident. IF you were..you should go to the doctor ASAP so they can do an Xray.

if you just slept funny, and woke up with a kink in your neck, it will probably go away. Put some ice on it. If it hurts for more than another day..go to the doctor.

There is a reason for the expression a pain in the neck!!!!

It sounds like a muscle strain - tear in the muscle. There is some inflammation, so rest, ibuprofen and/or ice application would be appropriate to reduce it for a couple of days. When it starts to feel better, use some heat and try some simple exercises to help strengthen the area for preventative measures.

Assuming you weren't"t in an accident or something you probably slept on it wrong. Try a bit of ice to reduce swelling and then a heating pad just before bed. Try sleeping without a pillow or a slim one and you'll probably be fine in the a.m.. if it's not better by morning go to a Chiropractor for an adjustment,

May be advisable to find out what is wrong with your neck. You are pretty young to be having this problem and would indicate there is a structural problem getting started. When it hurts, would indicate you are pressing on a nerve root. It can become very sharp pain.

May want to convince your mom to take you for an examination to find out what the problem is. The doctor of Chiropractic is very adept at treating this type of problem.

I injured my neck in 2003 in a pilates class at the gym.

My physiotherapist gave me a set of exercises I still do occasionally. My neck is much better, but occasionally still acts up.

You may need physio more than a neckbrace.

I do not know your age, but even if you are a young person it is possible that either of osteoarthritis. It could be the cervical vertebrae.
At the age of 20 years I had an extremely torticollis pain which made me suffer days! And then it passes as it comes.
But the best if it persists it is best to consult.
