I would love to come back as me! Living my same exact life again would be cool. I would know who NOT to date. I would invest every penny I had in Microsoft. For that matter, I would start developing my own software company at 14 and BE Bill Gates. I would also invest in Toyota. I would have a chance to undo a lot of mistakes I made and regrets I've had. I would make sure my car door was locked on 10/02/07 when all my tools were taken. I would ask dead friends and relatives more questions about their life before they go. I would know all the best teachers to pick in college. It might be annoying relearning things I took a lifetime to learn, but assuming I remembered my past life, I wouldn't have to do that! A lot of people are mentioning religion but I think this question is purely hypothetical, and I'm not sure why people feel they need to save you.

That would be kinda boring. I think I gave this life the best I can the first go.
By the way, I don't believe in the Hindu version of reincarnation where humans come back as animals etc. I think the human soul is distinct from an animal soul or plant soul etc.
However I DO believe that the spirit lives on and whether in this physical plane, or the one beyond or moving between both (like some spirits) we are given the chance to work out our unfinished business and move up a step in the development of our soul.
I do not believe in eternal reward and eternal punishment. Especially doled out based on whether or not you accept a certain doctrine as truth. This lifetime is not the ONLY one we'll have to continue on this journey nor will it determine our everlasting fate.
I think you get EXACTLY the balanced results for the actions you put out so that everything is balanced in the end. Every step of the way, your soul is given the chance to learn and grow. That seems so much more fair and just.

We are not our brains or our body but the algorithm the brain performs.
As we die the complexity of that algorithm decreases.
If the universe is infinite and varied ( a multiverse ) those algorithms are likely to be duplicated elsewhere. Indeed this duplication and our inherent uncertainty in knowing which copy we are is thought by many to be the reason for quantum mechanics.
As the complexity of the algorithm decreases the likelihood of a match increases.
So is what you are saying possible? Perhaps, but not just the life on earth but all the infinite life in the multiverse.

It's kind of funny, cause when I was about 4 yrs old I was under the impression that when we died, we automatically were born again (as in baby) and had another whole lfe to live again. Well much to my upset when my mother told me different...I cried and cried and cried!...lol. D'n'D

This is a good question...
I don't believe in reincarnation, however, your question is funny and I believe it would be ironic to come back as yourself... to pick up where you left off, or to start again and make different decisions...
how cool would that be?

I'd rather not--life was tough enough the first time around, I'd rather just keep watch over my kids from a cloud up there somewhere

In a manner of speaking that is what has happened when you were born and will happen again at the return of the real Christ.
