I`m going to be a Us citizen on 2 days from now Nov. 7 and I`ll be going to Mexico this year! on December but I don`t have the money to buy my passport. Am I going to be able to travel by air? or do I need to get back in car or a bus?

When you become a US citizen, you MUST re-enter the US as a US citizen.
As noted (best by Alex) if you get back before the 1st of January, you can use your Citizenship Certificate (but I would be VERY afraid of losing that!) and photo ID.

Scare up the money for your US passport; it will be worth it. Keep your citz certificate somewhere VERY safe--they take about a year to replace and cost more than the passport!

If you are a US Citizen, you will need a passport to get back into the country. If you have no passport, you will be denied entry. I just renewed mine, it was about $140 for the whole process. If you have money to travel to Mexico, I don't understand why you will not have enough to get a passport.

If you are returning BEFORE 1st January 2008

AND

you are travelling by land,

you will be able to re-enter using your certificate of naturalization, a certified copy of a birth certificate and some government issued ID (such as a driving licence).

If you are travelling by air OR are returning after 1st Jan then you must have a passport.

After the first of the year you will need a passport to reenter regardless of mode of travel.

YES, YES, YES, you need one. You will not be able to get back! Borrow $ and apply for expedited service, you'll probably get in within 2 weeks, that's what I did. It's about $157 for all the fees.http://travel.state.gov/passport/passport_1738.html
