Holiness means purity. Holy people perceive accurately because of their 'egoless state.' Their prayers/intentions are powerful because 'wholly desiring' is creation, meaning they harbor no internal conflictedness.

Holliness is doing something more than supposed to according to the Bible and a Saint is someone who takes their vow they made to Go seriously, more than others, making a difference in many ways, dying for us, traveling to other countries where people are poor and helping them or living the simplest life. they are the opposite of some of the things that i as a history major study about the Tudor dynasty and one cardinal called Wolsey who was the anti today's saint and back then too. nature of holliness is something that many debate yet truth is not found .

Anyone that has an extremely close connection with God could be called a saint. Usually after they die, since it is difficult to really make a clear assessment right away. Holiness, I guess might be the sort of glow, one of these people radiate, or the harmonic energy they give off, because of their special connection to God.

Holiness is being "set apart" for a purpose. God's holiness His "otherness". He is not us. In fact He is perfect, we are not. Holiness also implies good behavior as a reaction to being "set apart" to do God's work. It's a function of the relationship. Contrary to popular opinion it doesn't mean perfect behavior.

A saint, according to the Bible is a believer.

I would not even call the Pope, a Saint, because we all are Sinners, in one way or the other, so, I do not think there are Saints. We all are Sinners, the only ones, I believe that do not have any Sin on them are the Angels, God sent to protect us.

"A saint is a sinner who keeps trying."
(I really wish I could remember who said that quote)

Though none of us are holy, we are all called by Christ to be saints. Though we may never be officially recognized as saint so and so, we will be recognized in the eyes of God as a saint if we live our live according to His holy will and although we will mess up numerous times, as all the officially and unofficially recognized saints did, we never stop trying to follow Christ, the center and the focus of our life. God Bless you.

I Peter 14-16 says: 14As obedient children, do not conform to the evil desires you had when you lived in ignorance. 15But just as he who called you is holy, so be holy in all you do; 16for it is written: "Be holy, because I am holy."

I believe it's more of a commision than a command. We find that God alone holy but in our quest to be like Him we can walk in a level of holiness that exemplifies His character. At that point, also, one can be called a Saint of God.
