I love idioms, but some of them are just annoying, especially when people use them over and over and over.

When asked how to spell a word... 'look it up'... I can't spell it to look it up...

Just off the top of my head (no that's not it), I dislike "not enough room to swing a cat" and "more than one way to skin a cat." These are images of animal cruelty and I am distracted by how repulsive they are. They don't add any associative color to the ideas they're communicating the way an idiom should -- they're just crass.

the one that I hate the most is for assume. u make an *** out of you and me. Now for one, that makes no sense, it is rather stupid and rude response.
