Those who aren't 100% sure that they're going to heaven, are likely going to hell.
Jesus gives 100% assurance of salvation.

if i were to die tonight i would stand before the judgement of my Lord and my God. i know that while i will eventually get to heaven, there are some things i know He will want to "discuss". my time before His judgement will be painful and yet joy filled. i will find the times i was helpful & hurtful. the times when I followed where He lead & when i slammed the door in His face. In the end, when my testing & judgement has concluded (what we Catholics call our time in purgatory) I will see my Lord in heaven in all His Glory, Splendor & Majesty.
I do not believe that just becuase i am saved i will immediately go to heaven without standing before the judgement throne of my Lord. if i did believe this, i would be placing myself above God and above the law of scripture.
if you wish to argue, read your bible, I know what my Lord has taught & I'm not arrogant enough to think that I will be taken to heaven without the prerequisets as explained in the bible.

I agree with Misty and AMDG,however it IS up to God,and the Grace through God. Sin is NOT in Heaven. Heaven is perfect,no fights and sinless.:-) I'll probably end up in Purgatory also.

It isn't up to God? Wow, did you tell Him that?
It is only by the GRACE of God that any of us enter the kingdom, not by our own choosing (though we do choose to follow or not).
Will I go to Heaven? Eventually, but should I die tonight, I think I will end up in Purgatory - and I will be happy with that. For once in Purgatory, our salvation is assured.

The answer is not as simple as you would like it to be. The bible does state that God gives us a choice, but his free will also gives us the chance to be redeemed from sin. Unfortunately, sometimes, some people do not have the chance or the courage to ask for forgiveness. This does not mean he/she will go to hell. God will judge you and it is up to him to allow you into heaven, depending on what kind of person you were/are. God also knows that although we should all strive to be like saints, realistically we cannot be, but if we do our best, follow the bible and repent our sins, yes, we will go to heaven.
As for me personally, I hope I do, but that is up to God.

I wonder if any of you guys have read the Catholic Catechism or even know what the doctrines on, say, Mary or Papal infallibility say?
In Luke 10 Jesus says love God with all your heart, soul, and mind and love your neighbor and yourself and you will have eternal life. Anything else you are adding onto it, like that you shouldn't be subject to an earthly cleric authority for example (which clearly contradicts the Acts church and the authority assumed by Paul over his churches), is your own addition.

Why can't I say, "It's up to God." -- ? Because it really is. The Bible doesn't say we can order ourselves into heaven. Rather, it says that Jesus is the author of salvation.
I'll trust the Lord Jesus Christ for my salvation, thanks. Not you, and certainly not myself!

I will go to purgatory. Because as much as I love God and he loves me, I'm hardly worthy to stand in his presence.
Actually, none of us deserves heaven. We go there because of his mercy and love for us. But we cannot go in a sinful state, because sin cannot be in heaven. So, we go to purgatory first where we are purged of our sin.

Behold! Another bible-thumper has the correct and only answer. The tragedy of so many people re-inventing Christianity on their own interpretations is brought out in this pathetic "question". I'd suggest you strongly consider your own chances of salvation based on your prejudice and barely disguised hatred of fellow Christians.

I am already saved, i am being saved, and i hope that i will be saved.
Instead of being assured, i work out my salvation with fear and trembling with hopeful confidence in the promises of Christ.
and yeah, it is up to God.
