This might not be the answer your looking for but you should talk to a doctor or a counselor. You obviously know this isn't good for you yet you keep falling into the same rut. You need help to pull yourself out of this. You shouldn't try to go it alone.

Its funny that i just read this question b/c i am going through the same EXACT thing!!! and i cant begin to figure out why this happens.
The only thing i can think of is it all stems from depression and low self esteem. Do you have alot of things going on in your life right now that you feel like you have no control over?? This is what is going on with me so i figure the only thing i can control is what i eat. I binge eat b/c i am depressed and then stop eating for a few weeks b/c i have poor body image.
Look at it this way...what is the junk food or sweets actually doing for you??? NOTHING!! Think long and hard before you binge and ask yourself that question..hopefully we will both figure it out sooner than later :) and stop starving yourself!!! You will just gain more weight that way the next time you binge..
Just remember you are what you eat!

Without more details, it's hard to tell...but I would say you probably are suffering from a sugar issue. Usually, bingers are tied to a trigger of some kind...for me, it can be bread, or sometimes chocolate...other times, all it takes is some meat.
If you can identify your triggers, then you can move to remove them from your environment. It's not giving up, but it is admitting that you have an issue larger than you can deal with.
The best thing you can do to stop binging from a physiological point of view is to feed your body good, healthy food, and eliminate the stuff from your diet that is helping to make you fat.
You first have to realize, you HAVE to eat. Don't starve yourself by missing meals during the day...if you skip breakfast and have an apple for lunch, you are setting yourself up to overeat at dinner. Then, you feel awful about yourself, and you starve...and run the cycle again.
You may want to get a book from the library called "You on a Diet". It's a good book and the authors are Drs. that deal with weightloss and health. You can get some good information there that will help you.
My rules right now are simple. Don't eat if it has a label. Don't eat it if it's white (rice, bread, etc.). Take vitamins and minerals to make sure you are getting what you need. Drink lots of water. Move (walk) as much as you can.
Good luck!

Everyone goes through an eating binge, it's ok. It's when you start hiding it and throw it up later, now that's a problem. I have a weekness for Krispy Kream glazed donuts - I can eat a whole box of it!! But everytime I do, I run an extra mile to make up the calories. Try something like that, endulge yet pay the consequences also. In time, it won't be such a "I have to have it" feeling. It will take time, but if you really don't want this to take over your life, you have to control it now while it's still in the "innocent" stage. Good luck, you can do it!!

You need to see your Dr. first This is something that can only be treated by a Dr. you can give you the proper referals to where you can go to get the help you need. Once you have started the cycle of binging, it is not unlike other forms of abuse that other people have, that need a program of recovery.
Do not be afraid, you must act on it though before it causes other things like anorexia, etc. I had a friend that suffered 3 heartaches in her 20's because she starved her body of all its nutrients...she lost alot of weight, i believe she was down to 70-80 lbs. Today, she is fine now because of the care she recieved. But like other forms of illness, the longer you wait, the harder it is to break the cycle.

You need professional help and a support system. get out the phone book and find where you can find the support you need. The world is tough enough without the urge to binge. You hurt yourself when you do this, you know that, just reach out and find a hand to help you through this. You don't really want this, it's very painful in a number of ways. Please get someone to help. You deserve to under control of yourself . I lost a friend to this, I know how hard it can be to stop, Don't let yourself be controlled by anything but you and people that care for you. and you do have them, reach out.

starving urself lowers ur metabolism which makes u burn less calories so when you binge eat you gain more weight
just look at urself in the mirror and remind urself of how u want to look for motivation
evertime u get a craving for something sweet or fatening just think of ur perfect body to remotivate urself
will take time cause u need to get into the habit of eating healthly
also dont starve urself this will only cause more damage depending on ur size u should eat 1500 to 2500 calories a day
losing 2lbs a week is healthy anything more and ur losing muscle mass
i should take my own advise
its so hard but you can do it
how bad do you want it

This can only be learned through moderation. If you want something sweet only buy alittle of it so you cannot binge. When you shop never buy snacks because then they will be your constant temptation. Only allow yourself healthy alternatives and if you do binge punish yourself by having to do an extreme amount of exercise so that your counteracting the bad and conditioning yourself to moderate yoru intake.Good Luck

I would recommend to find something new, challenging and interesting, like a service club, or study of a new language, or something else time-demanding. It can distract you, and your anxiety could probably decrease.
There is a good book "How to Stop Worrying and Start Living" written dy Dale Carnegie. Maybe you've heard about that book. It helped me.

Fill your plate only once for every meal. Don't put everything you want on it either. Just eat what is recommended for your weight and body style, and don't over do it.
If you need help, and I do hope you don't, you will find several support groups in the Phone book and on the Internet.
Good luck and don't be a victim, even if it is easier.
