Do people have morals? I'm sure you would agree with me that a 40 yr old man who raped a 4 yr old daughter is appalling. That is a belief but why do you have it if there is no God? No God means we are beast like animals. And animals don't care. Or explain how some people have "gifts" and talents. Abilities others don't such as athletes, musicians, public speakers. How did they gain these things and with science prove to me what my child will be good at. What about the 'laws of the universe' all matter obey certain laws. Why is it that? And who or what created those laws? You can't say it just happend because something can't come from nothing. Why do we stand upright if it is bad for our backs? If evolution was true why then? we should have been bent like monkeys. Perhaps we are created in God's image. Through God I can explain these things. But please atheist explain it to me from science why does everyone have a unique thumb print?

How come some people look at colors and see just colors but others look at colors and see masterpieces beyond our own imagination>? Prove to me these things. With science and math. I do not think you are discrediting my God you are just proving how he works.

There are several theories on morality. Some argue that we should do whatever benefits the human race most, while others say we should do what benefits us most. In truth, science cannot describe what truly is best, unless a goal is set forth. If the goal is to reproduce your seed, then the latter theory is best. If you think the goal is to help the human race to grow, the former theory is best. If you think that we should help the world grow and that all animals should live in harmony, then you are just setting yourself up to be confused.

You don't need fancy dogmatic beliefs, or religions to understand when a thought or action causes harm to other sentient beings or not.

I also hate to break it to you, but animals do "care" in their own ways, observe the natural world, and want happiness and will do whatever it takes to get that happiness.

Talents are simply a function of the body and brain, not a "law". Laws are a human thing based on perceptions of any given group of people and their minds. I agree that nothing doesn't exist because everything is composed of something and has no beginning and no absolute end either.

Nothing is absolutely anything to include "perfection", because it's simply illogical. I think you'd enjoy and benefit from some more education on such things.

Morals are memes they evolve.

Societies with successful memes out evolve societies with unsuccessful memes.

All societies that have been discovered have morals similar to Western society in their core values. Societies that pre-date the Judeo-Christian-Islam myth also have those same core morals.

Meanwhile societies evolve and move on.

Is genocide moral? There is an awful lot of it in the bible.

What about abortion? The bible clearly says that this is a material loss, not a murder.

Slavery? The bible tells you how to treat your slaves. Obviously God does not mind about keeping slaves.

Disobedient children? The bible says to put them to death by stoning them.

If we get our morals from God, how come all these things have changed?

If you try to claim that Jesus revoked all this stuff, then you better be able to show the scripture that specifically deals with these items. Also, that would mean that god's laws had changed, but God is perfect and unchanging, so how can his laws change?

Meanwhile the vast majority of criminals are Christians. Atheists are significantly under-represented in the prison system. Which group was it that you were claiming had no morals?

People have morals because to be a successful and accepted member of our society, you must behave in a certain way. It's self-preservation. Totally biological! Not everyone has morals--what about serial killers? Where are their 'God-given' morals?

Gifts and talents are byproducts of having advanced minds from evolution.

Christians say that God 'just happened'. How did God come from nothing? No one knows the answer to the universe's origin, not even Christians (especially not Christians).

Actually, the reason why we have sore backs from standing up is exactly due to evolution. But- they don't usually get debilitating until after the age at which we procreate.

I don't need a bronze age text (which, by the way, condones slavery, has stories of incest by righteous men, genocide, and much more awful stuff), to establish a morality that guides me to not do harm to others.

The amount you don't know and understand about the world around you, would fill 66 volumes.

Morals are formed in society and are always changing. Does your god change? You didn't mention which one is your god. and why didn't he give morals to the 40 year old in your example? Animals do have morals and compassion, it might not be exactly like your though. Some people have talent because they won the gene pool. Sorry your family didn't evolve at the same level. Does your god have a bad back?

Not the idiotic "morals" thing again. You can have morals without a god. Do you know why? We all live together, thats why.

Human beings are very weak creatures with NO natural defenses, so it makes sense that we promote our own survival by cooperating with each other.

Morals are a human invention to make cooperating, and thus surviving, easier for ourselves.

So stop all this high and mighty arrogant idiotic religious "better than thou" crap.

People have morals because we evolved empathy and the intelligence to apply it.

We have unique fingerprints because the number of possible prints far exceeds the population.

Physical laws are not created. They are selected from the vast richness of Mathematics by our existence.
