I have a friend who knows a little bit about religion and I don't know if he was just pulling my chain or not, but he said that one of God's arch angels, either Michael or Gabriel, used to be on Lucifer's side and joined forces with him in the war of Heaven but then redeemed himself later and is now up there in Heaven again.

If this is correct, then that means that humans can have just as much of a fair chance as an arch angel, it's only fair.
This would mean that Michael was probably in Hell or kicked out of Heaven for a while, and then got back somehow. Why would an arch angel get a second chance in the afterlife but humans never have that same second chance? That makes no sense to me at all.

Lucifer was an angel and he and 1/3 of the angels fought against Michael, Gabriel and the other 2/3 of the angels.

Lucifer is the arch angel that is bad, and thought he could take over, God sent Lucifer and his angels down to the earth, and we are all born into sin now, because Adam and Eve did not listen to God, they listened to the serpent, Satan aka, lucifer, and now Jesus Christ had to come as a sacrifice for us, the second Adam, this time Jesus resisted the devil, Satan tried to tempt Jesus three times, and each time, Jesus followed His father, so then Jesus being perfect and free from sin could go to the cross as a sacrifice for all of our sins, yesterday, today, and tomorrow, when we accept Jesus Christ into our lives knowing that Jesus went to the cross for our sins, Repent turn from our sins and ask forgiveness, We then are inviting The Holy Spirit into our lives to fill us, guide us and convict us of our sins, when we die we wait for Jesus Christs return, where in heaven we will be as angels.

I've never heard of that, there's some fictional writing I've read about an Angel that rebelled and was cast out, and then later repented and was sent to Purgatory, but that's about it.

I don't think that that's part of the standard Christian mythology. I still have to wonder why Angels have no free will, but can rebel and how Satan can be the ultimate in evil with no power to create.
