Okay, first of all there is simply not one card that is the high in poker. The highest hand is a royal flush. Certain hands can take other hands, so it just depends on the cards in your hand, compared to the other person's hand. Anyway there are four different suits in a card deck.
1. Spades
2. Hearts
3. Clubs
4. Diamonds
The ace will have only one spade, heart, diamond, or club on the card. If there is a tie, the person with the highest face or number cards in his hand will win the round. Spades is also the highest suit in the deck. Hope this answers your questions....

Generally speaking, the ace of spades is the highest card in the deck. However, certain games have exceptions to this rule, and in poker suits have no value while in play (considering both hands are equal in ranks).
There are certain occasions, in poker, where suits have value. An example of which would be determining where the dealer button will be placed to start a new game, or "racing off" for the odd chips in a tournament. In these situations, the suits are given value and the values are as followed:
Spades (highest value), Hearts, Diamonds, Clubs (lowest value). An easy way to remember their strength, in said circumstances, is to simply remember their alphabetical order.

1. The aces are considered royal cards in poker, so it is not considered as a value of one.
2. If there is a tie of aces, it's a tie. The player's other highest card determines winner, though I have known some folks who will play it right down to which suit is higher, which brings me to the "opposition" in #3...
3. Ace of spades (black, upside-down heart) is tops. I've played with some folks who do not argue that the spades rules, but the order varies after that. I was taught that clubs is next, followed by the diamond, then the heart, if you're in a group that plays it that way.
4. Hearts and diamonds are red; spades and clubs (looks like a clover) are black.

assuming that you both have 5 cards, you would keep going down your hand in descending order until you got to the cards that don't match, then that high card wins the hand. For example: hand 1: pair of j's, k, 8, 2. hand 2: pair of j's, k, 8, 3. The second hand wins because the three is higher than the two (all other cards matched with the opponent). If both hands have all 5 cards the same, nobody wins, there is no such thing as a higher suit, meaning that spades don't beat hearts...etc.

One ace is no higher than another.
Ties are decided by highest non-tying card, for example, kings and 4's beat kings and 3's. It is possible (but quite remarkable) for two players to have exactly the same hand, for example, AAKK3. I think custom is to divide the pot.
The four suits are Clubs, Diamonds, Hearts, Spades

In the game of 21 (Blackjack poker), the Ace can be worth 10 points or 1 point. The "shape" of the design, the heart, spade, club, or diamond, is called "trump." Thus the expression "My card trumps yours."
Some kinds of poker allow for trump; others do not. In 21, trump doesn't matter, and if there is a tie, the house (dealer) wins.

#1 - The Ace card is the one with the "A" on it, shape doesn't matter
#2 - If it is a tie, it is a tie
#3 - Even if you both have Aces there is no high shape, Aces are equal in poker
#4 - Clubs (look like 3-leaf clovers), Hearts, Diamonds, and Spades (look like mini shovels)

The Ace...
But it's played in terms of hands, not individual cards.
The highest hand is the Royal Flush.
