Hi everyone,
I am feeling really upset, my cat who was a year and a half died yesterday morning of feline lukemia. I found her under a porch in May 06', when she was no more than 5 weeks old. She was attacked by an animal, and was missing her back leg, and would have died if I had not taken her in. She was the sweetest cat in the entire world, I have been so broken up about losing her. She had such a huge impact on my life in the short time I had her, and I am thinking about getting a tattoo to remember her by. I was thinking 3 little paws (since she was missing her back leg) and possibly her name. But I think I may just go with the 3 little paws if i do get it... any opinions?

Ha ha! I have my dogs paws tattooed on my legs where he used to sit on my lap. I love them. I would just get the paws for now, you can always add on later. I would caution you, though, to wait even a few months before you go ahead and do this. Trust me, grief can make you do some crazy things and you don't want to regret it. My dog passed away in February and I got the tattoos in August. All in all, though, it's a cute idea and we animal lovers think alike! (I also like the three paws idea for her only having 3 legs...very sweet.) Also, I'm very sorry for your loss and know what you are going through.

I'm so sorry! I know what it's like to lose a pet like that, my golden retriever was 15 when she died 6 years ago (my parents had gotten her before I was even born!) I think the three paw prints is an excellent idea, it makes a unique tattoo for a unique kitty! I think it would be beautiful with or without her name, but I'd personally go without. Best of luck!

I'd just get the three paws. You don't need the name there to know what is signifies. Although no doubt some people will think you're crazy for getting such a tattoo, as a cat person myself, I completely understand. You should do it, it's a nice way to honor her memory.

Your cat sounds lovely, sorry for your loss. However, a tattoo is forever and probably something you will come to regret in later years. (It sounds like a nice idea when you are young, but will be strange to explain when you are in your 50s). If you want to remember Poly, why not frame a special picture of her or have a special place in the garden (a nice stone) where you can "visit" her? This is what I have done with my beloved cat. We even took the rock when we moved interstate.

Oh, I am so sorry to hear about your loss. I love the idea of 3 paws. The name is cute too, but if it were me, I would go with the paws!

I think that'd be gorgeous. When I started reading I was planning to suggest getting little pawprints, but it seems you're one step ahead. Plus, the fact that you'll only have three makes it really specific to her and yourself. Whatever you decide on, with such special meaning behind it, I'm sure you'll love it ^_^

I have little cat paw prints going up my ankle...so I think your idea is an excellent one!
p.s. So sorry for your loss...I'm sure there is a shelter kitty out there just waiting for someone as nice as you to adopt him or her.
