It would be nice to read up on how the women are doing. And don't give me the "no one cares about girls sports" deal. In fact the U.S. women have been more dominant than the men lately

They can't allow too many different topics to flood in. They have to keep a finger in the dyke, so to speak....

Having dominant players does not correspond to public interest. Lots of sports have teams or players that dominate, and never get any public attention.

People want to inject a sexist reason behind the lack of media coverage or women's sports, but it's simply not true. The fact that there is a WNBA and Women's NCAA basketball section all but proves that. There are 2 simple reasons women's sports do not get the coverage of men's sports:

1.) Not as much interest. You can claim the dominance by some players makes it exciting all you want, but numbers don't lie. More people follow men's sports, so more money can be generated from covering it.

2.) Women are second (or even 3rd or 4th) tier athletes. They cannot compete with men in general, so almost all women's leagues are inferior in competition to men's. Having a section just for the LPGA would be no different than having a section just for AAA baseball or Arena League Football.

If Yahoo felt having a separate section just for the LPGA would generate a significant amount of traffic to their site, you better believe it would be on there. Since it's not there, it's safe to assume that is not the case. Just because you don't like the truth does not make it wrong.

I think it because there has not been too many questions posted on this board. I am not giving the no one cares about women's sports but I do think the lack on conversation has something to do with it. I have wonder how cricket has a section but lacrosse does not??????

Ask a lot of questions and force them to add the section. I would love to talk about Natalie Gulbis!!!

Well, Yahoo! does have an LPGA section in Sports, and it's just as complete as their PGA Tour, Nationwide Tour and Champions Tour coverage. Use the link below:
