Rodney L. Rodis, age 51, of Fredericksburg, Virginia, pleaded guilty today to mail fraud and money laundering

Rodis established bank accounts and a post office box over which he exercised authority. He then directed his parishioners to mail their contributions to this post office box, afterwhich he would then transfer the checks to his personal bank account. He used some of the money for his own himself and his spouse and three biological children, whom he concealed from his parishioners by living approximately 50 miles from his church location. He also laundered some of the proceeds and wired them abroad to family in the Philippines, who purchased, among other things, real property in the Philippines.

It's interesting to see that the Believers think all is forgiven if you just repent. That's a great message to put out. All the criminals know they can just repent and go to heaven.

and you wonder why people like me don't believe in this nonsense called religion...gees.

God might or might not forgive him and thats up to him.I hope that your system of justice does what is expected to similar cases and throw this guy in the jail for a few years, untill time comes for god to have his turn.I am not saying if you should or should not believe in god .I just hope corrupted individuals are not the sole reason.,for your beliefs.Sorry I am not the sunday sermon and I dont want to sound like it either.I was just saying,P.

Ironically, the church will save money because of this priest. They won't have to pay for all those lawsuits a "normal" priest generates

No. He was caught. If he had repented before he got caught this would have been different. Phony repentance.

Only if he asks for forgiveness and repents (turns away from) his sin.

It's between him and God.

Hope that helps!

There is nothing we like more, we humans, than pointing out the failings of those we place in positions of authority.

Sure he will! It doesn't matter how many lives you destroy, you'll always be forgiven. The only unforgivable sin is blasphemy.
