Will OpenOffice not suffice?? That's free!

Base is OpenOffice's database program, that might work. Maybe worth a shot.

If you mean '07 then you can get a free evaluation version of it from the Microsoft Website but I think that it only lasts for thirty days and after that you have to use an activation key which you have to pay for. There is no other way of getting it for free that I know of.

Why would you want such an old version? Doubt if it is readily available anymore. Why not download free TRIAL version of 2007 from Microsoft, or if you have Works on your computer, you can do a basic database there.

There are compatibility issues between Office 97 and Windows xP/Vista.

Even if you can get a free copy, you may find it doesn't work.

Nothing Microsoft is free, you need to buy it or one of the Office Pro suites for this.

Microsoft products are not free, however, you can download a freeware program called Open Office -- it is similar to MS and can be converted, free, online at www.media-convert.com.

don't do XP or Vista go for OS called windows nemesis4.0 it's vista and xp together without all the bugs and there isnt any activation needed
