I have fostered MANY moms and several have gone into heat when the kittens were 3-4 weeks old. SPAY NOW!!!! It is sad and unhealthy for a cat to live her life as a kitten machine. Eaach litter wears on them, and having them back to back can really effect their health and the kittens can be weaker in each litter.

She will start looking for another mating quite soon, so I would schedule a spaying with your vet as soon as possible. You can explain when she stopped weaning, and your vet may wish to wait until the milk dries up, but that is not a requirement.

So the bottom line is probably much faster than you would expect.

Get her spayed quickly. She can and might go into heat within the next few weeks.

I fostered a momma & babies. When the kittens were around 10-12 weeks old, she was already ''yowling'' for a mate.

You really need to get her spayed right now.
