Appaerently muslims dont understand this. yesterday I refuted a Qu'ran 'science verse' with adequate evidence. I did it politely and calmly. I look in my inboc today and I see, 'YOU ARE AN ISLAMIC HATE MONGER. WE SHALL SEE WHAT HAPPENS ON JUDGEMENT DAY. I WILL LAUGH AT YOU AS YOU BURN IN HELL'

wiccanhpp - You make a caluebale point. It does feel nice to win debates.

Searcher - Your logic is weaker. Science is not perfect, but 'god' is. If Imperfect science changes what perfect 'god' says there is conflict. I am not allowed to doubt the Qu'ran, yet I CAN doubt science.

Searcher - Do you belive that everything on the Internet is true? Because that paragraph about changing is made up. I MADE IT UP to get my point across. The links however prove it wrong nevertheless. You are merely helping me prove my point by arguing - That muslims cannot stand critisism of Islam and repeatedly fight back with arguments even when faced with complete falsehood

They call you a hate monger (for offering a different perceptive) and then proceed to say they will laugh as you burn in hell. Yea, *you* are the hate monger here.
I just love the baited questions that are really only seeking an answer that basically says, 'I agree with you,' regardless of how absurd or circular the logic or evidence.
Debate and thinking are healthy. Their response only shows they are ignorant and unable to give you a real answer so resort to playground tactics. The same hit the thumbs down button with a vengeance to any comment that does not jive with their theology regardless of merit.
If that's the best they do, I don't worry about it. If someone is determined to refuse to look at the mass of scientific, geographical, archaeological, anthropological, historical, and psychological evidence in order to cling to a collection of myths that weren't even meant to be taken literally in the first place, then what can you do?

I am not sure that you actually refuted it.
"There are only 5 layers of the atmosphere. The Magnetosphere does not count as part of the atmosphere itself and the Ionosphere is not actually influenced by the earths gravity."
"Of interest, there were 7 layers until last year when it was decided to disband the magnetosphere because it contained no gas (therefore does not comply with rules of atmosphere namely air) and the ionosphere."
So because humans decided to change the definition what consists of a "layer" to the atmosphere...that proves the Qu'ran wrong? That is a pretty weak argument.
Edit: I never said you can't doubt it. But you are claiming to have proven the Qu'ran wrong because of a change in a scientific definition...we are talking about linguistics. It says there are 7 layers...there are actually 7 layers, but since science has decided to say the last 2 layers aren't official parts of the Earth's atmosphere...then you think that disproves that they are still there?
Edit 2: 1) I'm not a muslim. 2) I didn't look at any of the websites. You made up a statement and still you think that you refuted their point? Pretty much case closed then, don't you think? So do you agree that there are 5 layers of the atmosphere PLUS 2 more layers that science says are technically not part of the atmosphere?

yes its funny they ask those 'scientific miracles of the quran' in the ramadan section of course everyone there will say oh yes your right but asking it here will lead to a thorough debunking and i answered the same question as you and then the girl asked for sources to back up what i said i could have provided them but it looks like ou did good enough and i bet the best answer will go to the one who cut and pasted that novel agreeing with her and not the ones who debunked her claim
even when you show them proof they dont agree with you i have seen very few muslims actually speak against the science in the quran i guess they all dont swallow whats fed to them

It has become clear to me that most religious people are unreasonable and don't care about the peace and enlightenment that their religion supposedly preaches. Many are just interested in having the last word or being right. and to have you burn in hell would make them right. Take comfort in the fact that the person who sent you that email is not in their right mind, brain washed, or just plain nuts. No person in their right mind would do that.

not much you can do about such things! they have a lot of skeletons in the closet and love to point fingers at others!
I find it funny that we push the truth button and they will react negative (even when the truth is exposed) because they just don't like the fact that you can see through them!

Sadly ideolistic religious, of all persuasions, have no idea what truth is. They believe that what their clerics (clergy) tell them is the only truth and that all other reason doesn`t excist.
So all of use with a scientific background will have to meet in hell !!!!

Sure, debates are fun, healthy and productive if you are armed and prepared. But, as the saying goes, I hate to go to a battle of wits with an unarmed person. It gives me an elated sense of superiority that takes hours to climb down from ;)

God is a self amusing feller. He dropped all these folks on this planet in groups, told them a different story why they are there, then, sat back and watched the results.
Does anyone with any education really believe the crap that they preach? Just look at the politicians.

You just completely busted them wide open. And what do fundies do when their argument has been busted open? They yell and scream. The only thing you can do is either send them to time out, or ignore them.
