Not necessarily. I do think society would be better off if everyone learned to live and let live, and let people believe as they wish.

If everybody had the same beliefs, we would likely find ourselves in a modified Brave New World. We probably wouldn't have wars anymore, and people would treat each other like themselves, which is exactly what spiritual teachers throughout the ages have been suggesting we do. Still, there would be no conflict, no chance to grow, no fun left in life. Besides that, we would get over-populated really fast and would likely have to have close and personal conversations with everyone we saw, which would stop us from getting a whole lot done. This would also cheapen the thrills of being close to only a few people in this lifetime.
Still, "better off" is entirely subjective, and I don't really feel qualified to tell people what's better for them. It would be different, and it would cause things to happen along different pathways, but in the end it's up to people to decide if they want peace or war. I mean, if it weren't for the fundies always condemning me to hell, where would I get my laughs?

No. I am a Christian, but I think different opinions make the world a more colorful place. My faith has been helped by those who question what I believe.
Everybody, nomatter how great they are, has a bad side. Say my problem was truthfulness? If everybody was the same as me nobody would keep me in check. We need different people with different ideas, morals, and values to create a working society.

Yes. I believe that the gospel of Jesus Christ will bring peace and prosperity to this world. The different sects of Christianity are similar enough to bring us all to live righteous lives.

I believe that the conflict experienced between religions will one day be put to rest when Christ comes and destroys the wicked off the face of the earth, and then He teaches the remaining righteous His true religion. Until that day I feel that squabbling over doctrinal differences serves no useful purpose because the Bible can be interpreted any way you want to.

The Important thing is to learn your religion and live it to the fullest. Keep the commandments of God and you will be spared at the last day. Then we will all become unified under His perfect doctrine.

P.S.- The definition of Wicked is not those who belong to churches other than my own, but those who do not love God and do not love their fellow man. Details of religion are important to keep because it demonstrates to God that you are serious about following His will for you. But what those different details are, we will only know through open hearts and sincere prayer. If you believe in Christ, stick to your faith.

I think society would be better off if everyone minded their own business and let everyone believe what they wanted.

Of course, if everyone "believed" as I do, then then wouldn't be the religious factions, extremists or other problems and people would be responsible for their own actions.

Edit:
I'm not sure that "belief" has that much affect on diversity of thought, at least not beneficial diversity.

I wouldn't say every belief that I hold, but society would be better off without religion definately.

A the risk of sounding arrogant, yes, I do. If there was no religion, there would be less hate, less terrorism, and fewer wars. As for having less culture/balance/whatever, you don't need god to be creative and different.

God gives each person what they need and it's different for everyone. The most important lesson to learn is love.

If everyone accepted Christ and His Church (like they will in heaven), then yes, society would be better off.
