.. from different religions, gained just as much popularity? How come other people believe in other gods, just as much as you believe in yours?

If you were born in a different place of the world and would have been baptized under another religion, you'd have another belief too, and probably be just as convinced of it as you are now of christianity. Knowing this, you are stil convinced that your religion is the only true one?

I am a Christian and I agree with you completely. I believe we have all these religions because we have all these different types of people, and peoples have experienced the divine in different ways.

Theologian John Hick notes that Jesus' test for Christians is that they will be known by their fruit. And if we look at Christians and non-Christians pretty much we see good people and bad people in both and at about the same mix. So then there has to be some serious truth to other religions.

Basically, I believe Jesus was the Incarnation of God on Earth and that through his life and death we are mysteriously given grace. But I do not think he cares whether you believe this about him or not. I think the important thing is to love Others and that all time-tested religions have proven they are capable of guiding people to do so.

Some better than others! My favorite religion is mystical Hinduism (Vedanta). But following that, I would argue Catholic and mainline Protestant (i.e. Anglican, Methodist) Christianity is the most effective path available. There is psychological power in a God who saves the day by getting killed by mortals.

different what's written interior the Bible of historic past has been proved. Like Noah's Ark has been considered and photographed on the main important mountain over in Iraq. there is mostly a lot of snow there. yet as quickly because it melted lots and Noah's Ark grew to become into considered an investigated. that's to the comparable measurements and shape simply by fact the Bible says. quickly lined with snow lower back. additionally photoed by a satellite tv for pc, NASA. this isn't any longer the dissolving shape in yet another united states that one guy is watching, with too lots delight in himself, for this isn't any longer even the nicely suited shape. documents of historic past, from neighboring international places, have been discovered confirming activities that the Bible has written in it. some documents are even on ceramic, no longer paper. look on the cyber web. the superb why inspite of the fact this is so you might wish to God and ask Him. i'm no longer able to assert how long this is going to take, we are all diverse. If one dose no longer likely have self assurance then they won't get the respond. Or get a diverse style of answer. Then miracles and prayers do get replied, in many circumstances no longer as one desires, yet solutions come. One time I heard of an ailment a treatment grew to become into attempting to be discovered for. It had 2 words to it call. I prayed for it and slipped up a left the 2d part of the call off. 3 weeks later an announcement grew to become into on the information for this ailment i did no longer even understand of, that throughout common terms gets infants, this is call grew to become into in common terms the 1st word of the others call. So sometime solutions come very incredible. merely final month an announcement got here that a treatment for the different one is getting close, this is been some years.

Nope. I would question my beliefs and try to find out WHY I believe. I'd want to find out if I believe in a truth or a lie. If it's the truth -- good; if it's not -- I'd try to find out what is.

The Bible is not one book. The Bible is SEVERAL different books written at different places, times, and by different authors. They could have been talking about Muhammad or anyone else; but it was JESUS who fulfilled these written prophesies. No one knew who the Messiah was gonna be. That's why they kept questioning and asking Jesus if he was the Messiah. After he died they finally realized "This was truly the Son of God!"

So even the Bible itself is "other religious books". It's just gathered into one....

As far as popularity goes not quite so as Chrisitanity is the largest faith in the world today. As far as beliefs outside of Christianity deception is Satan's greatest tool. He takes people's earnest desires to come to know God and deceives them into thinking they find salvation outside of Christ.

I am already aware that someone of another faith will make the same claim and thus the circular arguments begin. As to where you are born being the deciding factor that is impossible to know as Christ is found everywhere that may not be the case. I do not mean to offend anyone in this as I would love to discuss with people of other faiths however the salvation of Christ that is felt by a believer is why I still believe. The central tenet of Love God and Love one another and the outcome this has held in my life is my proof if I needed it. I very much enjoy your questions as they are indeed a challenge to Christians to really examine their faith. I am saddened when you get the frequent intolrent or snarky remark.. I apologise. I will pray for you that you may come to know the Love and acceptance the Christ is really about in your questioning and I look forward to further questions from you.

yes, I do.

I learned about God all on my own as a child....and He taught me to read and understand the Bible without any help from a human being.....much later , I discovered that everything I had learned on my own with just God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit, were things that mankind's churches also taught...and....have met many whom learned on their own, at various ages, from differing locals and environments and culture, exactly as I had, and all are of one mind and Spirit....so, yes, I believe that if one wants to, or NEEDS to, they WILL find the One True God.

The Bible is made up of WORDS....God's Holy Spirit TEACHES and INSTRUCTS us to their TRUTH. :)

***Experience is not always kind in it's teachings, but, longer lasting then merely reading or memorizing words upon a paper or accepting what someone says is "truth".... Believers mature with those "experiences".... as a child then and now, I do not accept what another says about God, Jesus, the Holy Spirit, the Bible, satan, etc.,. until I have looked at it from all perspectives, tearing it apart and putting it back together again, testing the spirits about it all and expecting God to SHOW me "truth" undergoes the same process most of the time....do not undersestimate a Believer by thinking they all accept things blindly or follow like lemmings.... the stronger the Belief and Faith, the more they have done their own questioning, testing, studying, research, etc.,.

There are some whom aquired that Grace and maturity through what I consider miraculous design and reason, but they are rare.....

The rest haven't discovered they can walk and talk at the same time as their brain or Spirit is digesting information....lol....but, I pray they will all find the "Truth" REGARDLESS of denomination they seek or "belong" to, even as the unbelievers shall hopefully find "Truth" as well. :)

There is only one way a man can be saved from death and that is to believe in the Son of God and be born again.

There is not one other teaching that has covered the entire globe as this.

Those who seek the truth will find it, regardless of what religion you raised in.

Salvation is a matter of the heart and all who seek God will find him. And when they find him, they discover he sent his Son to take away the reproach of the world and that who ever believes in him shall have life and life more abundantly.

I believe that Jesus Christ is the way. A just God allows for all of his children to have a change to hear his message. whether we live on the other side of the world, whether we don't get the change to hear about Christ while in this mortal life, I believe that God will give us all a change to hear his message.

For some, that change may come in the next life, the life after death. For that reason, that is why Christ went to the spirit world (telling the thief that hung on the cross with him, "Today thou shalt be with me in paradise.") to preach his Gospel to those who never got the chance to hear it while living on the earth. That is also why Paul taught that there be "baptisms for the dead.." (1 Corinthians 15:29) We can perform those ordinances in behalf of those who never got the chance to do it while living on the earth.

not only do christians believe that christianity is the only way:

pentecostals believe that pentecostalism is the only way;

congregationalists believe that congregationalism is the only way;

baptists believe that being a baptist is the only way.

for as long as the soviet union lasted russian marxists believed that all other social systems would eventually collapse and the whole world would become marxist.

bolshevism lasted from 1916 until 1989.

the pentecostal movement has a way to go before it can say it lasted as long as soviet marxism.

Yes I am. I believe that God has given a portion of his truth the everyone. He has also revealed His whole truth. Since everyone has a portion of His truth, it would seem that they should be able to gain a testimony of that truth which is what you are saying happened. The issue with reconciling all the different portions of truth to the fullness of his truth is pride. If we are truly humble and sincere, He will manifest the truth of all things to us through the Holy Ghost.
