I am new to this "Answer Forum" and I have quite a few pagan and atheist friends in the "real" world, why do they have such a distaste for Christianity on this forum? There are so many religions in the world, what makes Christianity so offensive to them do you suspect?
Christian charity ............... BAD
Christian prayer ................ BAD
Love thy neighbor ...............BAD
The 10 Commandments ... BAD
I could list far more "BAD", but I just don't get what is so offensive.

Richard F - That's the kind of thinking I am looking for. I love it when people challenge my faith in earnest, in life, in here it rarely happens.

Christianity or I should say Jesus Christ is the only true Living God as the Bible says and a living God touches and convicts your Heart. NO other religion has a living God, Jesus convicts our hearts when we do wrong and that obviously bothers people, When a person just sees the ten commandments it cause a reaction inside of them, and me for that matter because even as a Christian I still sin and the Lord convicts me of it and I have stop and ask for forgiveness. And if it does a Christian that way imagine what it does to a nonbeliever who Jesus is dealing with, I have seen grown men grip the back of the pew at church and turn white knuckled hanging on. Thats the power of the Holy Spirit and thats why it causes so much anger towards Christianity. Great Question!!!!

It is because you represent the Light of God's Love, and (as Jesus pointed out), people refuse to come to the light because their deeds are evil.
Think about this for a moment:
You come into a dark room with a flashlight or beacon, and as you shine it around the room you see people doing evil, wicked, dispicable things. What do you think these people will do?
There are really only 3 responses:
Come into the light and repent.
Attack the person holding the light.
Move deeper into the darkness to avoid the light.
The people here seem to want to attack the light, thus demonstrating that they KNOW that they are evil!
I mean, if they weren't, why work so hard at attacking Christians? In the words of Shakespeare, "Me thinks he protests too much."

Charity...good
Prayer...superstition
Love thy neighbor....good, if they're good neighbors; otherwise, avoid thy neighbor
The 10 commandments...okay but outdated
Christianity is the most popular and influential religion in the world. That's why it draws the most criticism. And with all of the unsupportable claims, disagreements between sects and death and destruction dealt out in His name, there's a lot to criticize.

I don't really know. They complain about being taught Christianity and people knocking on their doors, yet they come here to be a missionary to science, and for what reason? It gets them nowhere. At least my mission saves souls.

Theocracy........very bad.
Dominionism............very bad
Anti-science..............incredibly bad
Creationism/ Intelligent Design........not only bad but mindbogglingly dishonest.
Criminal, dishonest and immoral televangelists........Par for the course.
Self righteous religious bigotry.......so normal it is just sad.
Christian charity is quite over rated and in most cases makes more money for the church running the charity than it delivers to the needy. (I have seen the inside of some of them)
