My dad has turned sixty and yes, present buying gets harder so I just took the easy option. Ask him what he wants as a treat for himself and say you'll do all the leg work and pay for it. I prefer it when people do that for me because I get something I really want without having to worry about getting it. I do that every year with my parents now, personally I think its the safest bet.
Hope that helps.

Spending quality time with your dad would be great.. what about taking him to lunch and then go to a park for a nice walk? Or go to the zoo together... do something special for him.
He might have everything, but doesn't always have YOUR time... giving him that sort of gift while doing something like lunch or the zoo might be a lot of fun and will make a good memory.
take care... and don't forget your camera. maybe someone can take a picture of the two of you while you are out, and you can have it framed after the event, and give that to him too?

My dad turned 72 this year, it's rough. I know how you feel.
My dad has everything too, so I always write him a letter. A nice handwritten letter is one of the most appreciated gifts in the world (i've found that again and again) and will mean more to your dad than anything you can buy. Make it from the heart, and let him know how much you love him, and how glad you are that he is your father. You know, the stuff you already feel but probably don't say much.

Well, maybe, if you want it to be heartfelt, you should make the gift with your hands instead of buying it. If you aren't into arts and crafts, there are classes you can sign up for that can help you make whatever you want. Maybe an abstract statuette of a child in her father's lap. Something like that.

If you don't live close by send him a picture of both of you together in a frame you made. Or send him a scrap album of both of you together
if you live close by take him out for dinner or go to a park, museum, movie, theater, ball park, something that he would enjoy and go with him. Cherish every minute you have.

Get him a couple of asian hookers. They will love him long time and he will love you long time.
