does anyone know how i should describe my decor taste? the best way for me to put it is: vintage tropical feel (unsure what era) w/ lots of off-white, pastels, and dark wood. i love the Kerne Erickson posters but don't want my home to look like a travel agency. i like for it to be classy yet laid-back and relaxed. any suggestions?

That sounds wonderful!
I've seen what you describe in decorating shows. A lot of decorators suggest that you get a pile of old magazines and look through them, and tear out the pictures that you like. Decide what it is you like about these pictures, and work from there.

Look into British Colonial - it has pale cottons, dark wood, palm trees (and sometimes monkeys), elephants, etc. You can also try Italian, but the wood there is paler and there are fewer palm trees involved - more Mediteranean and less African and Indian.
