im a bit concerned. i know alot of men have porn addictions, but i seem to have one aswell. is this normal??

It depends on how far you take this "addiction". In my opinion there is absolutly nothing wrong with porn... as long as it is tasteful and not illegal. It can be a good tool in your sex life... HOWEVER, when it becomes a leading factor in your life, you think about it more often than you should, or if you feel you can't become aroused without the use of porn, then it's a problem. Also, when you let the porn take over your normally healthy sex life, that's when it becomes a problem. If you feel yourself losing your grasp on whether or not you can say "no" to it, try attending a meeting. They do have porn addict meetings just like they have AA meetings. They are very informative and it's nice to know that you are not alone.

I'm not gay, nor am I addicted to porn. However, I don't feel that there is such a need to be in the closet anymore. I might be a bit naive, but that is how I feel. I have many friends that are gay and they don't hide it. Never once have I seen them treated differently because of there sexual preference... As far as the addiction goes, I think anyone could become addicted. Sex is fun and a lot of people can't think about much else... I think it could be very easy for people to become addicted. If your partner has a problem big enough that makes his/her miss out on things in life because he/she would rather be looking at porn then they do have a major problem and need to talk to someone about that..... I'm sure there are a lot of women to like watching porn (just like some people like watching horror movies) but to be ADDICTED means its starting to interfere with your daily life, and that's concerning. If you feel like you're spending time and money and is negatively impacting your life then you should try to get some help.

It's only an addiction if you have to have it, if it interferes with your life in some way. If you simply enjoy it, but can easily go without, it's not an addiction. And many women enjoy porn. I'm one too.

Addiction (of any kind) is never normal. But just because you like to look at porn does NOT mean you are addicted. Addiction means that it controls your life.

There is no such thing as normal. Porn addiction for women is increasing. I like a little porn now and again.

its the hardest addiction ever
cus in most addictions you can seperate yourself from what you are addicted to
but with porn its permanet recording in your memory
its people having fantasies and that not part of the real life
so its not normal
as to how you can stop only you can

Well, most people I know who look at that stuff are kinda lonely, so maybe if you find someone, they'll take the place of that.
Guys are weird, though, and an addiction is an addiction. I have heard of husbands caught looking at it by their wife, and then they'll say that it's something they've been addicted to for years.

Kat, women are just as curious about sex as men are...I don't personally think that there is anything wrong with it.
