My BF gave me a bunch of clothes to sell on eBay. I just got a call from a guy who goes to the (small) gym that my BF belongs to, saying last week he had left his jacket there & now I'm selling same 1 on eBay. I've been to that gym w/ my BF & the guy saw my name on guest roster. But I hadn't been there for over a month & I told him to look @ roster for proof. My BF goes almost every day, & was there the day after the guy said he lost his jacket there, & he gave me eBay stuff incl. the jacket, that next day. I asked my BF & he said he got it from a friend 6 mths ago but to give it back to the guy "just in case" it's his. To me that sounds like an admission of guilt - if it's not the guy's jacket, why return it? Now the guy thinks I stole his jacket but it was really my BF & he won't fess up. I want to break up w/ my BF b/c I don't want to be w/ a thief. Yet I don't want to get him in trouble at the gym by saying it was him, not me. What should I do? PS He's got money, y would he steal??

He cares nothing about your feelings. If he did, he would have fessed up. Dump him and let him deal with this mess on his own.

It sounds like your bf stole the jacket. He could have done it just because or it could be for extra money. Either way, giving the guy the jacket (and other items) is the best thing to do. Your bf is acting very shady about the whole thing. Take a hard look at your relationship. Do you really think you could continue to have a relationship with him? If you can look at yourself and say yes, keep it going. If you have doubts it may be best to cut your losses.

Take the coat back to the owner and mover out. That jerk is going to get you into serious trouble be it with a private party or the cops. Make sure you tell the gym what you found out about your boyfriend so they can kick him out or keep closer tabs on him. Otherwise, the guy the coat belongs to and your BF are going to tag team you and swear you did it.

Give the jacket to the accuser and if he recognizes it then it is true that your boyfriend stole it and you should split up with him

If the jacket was stolen and after you have returned it (and they guy confirms it is his) tell the guy that you had no idea your EX boyfriend had taken it and you have now ended the relationship - that you had nothing to do with it.

Your boyfriend sounds like a real winner. Dump him like yesterday's trash. Give the other guy the jacket back.

Um, well your b/f's karma is rolling into your life. Pick your mates better. But this one you have now is a thief(according to your headline).

Hopefullly your conscious is telling you to break it up with him, and tell your friend the truth. Anything less would be sad...
