My vet:
Currently, I go to the Petsmart vet. Convenience won there, but I plan on switching in a few months (after my care plan runs out) to a vet who has been recommended by a few of my dog park friends. He also shares my last name, so maybe I'll get a discount (haha unlikely).
My Missy story:
When I first got Missy, she wouldn't go near the water. I thought it was sad. All the dogs I'd ever had weren't water dogs, and here I had a dog named after the biggest river in North America (Mississippi, for those who aren't following) and she hated her bath and wouldn't go near the stream. Then she figured out that she's a retriever and she loves the water. Half of my pictures of Missy are of her wet and looking incredibly happy because of it. She will lay down in the water - I get comments about this from other dog owners at the park every single time. When I moved to my parents' house, we couldn't go to the park as often, so when I took her back up in the fall (we went during the summer before) I thought maybe she'd dance around in the water a little bit, but it's cold, so she wouldn't lay down in it, right? WRONG. She'll even curl up in a ball in the water. It's so cute, but any time I try to take a picture, she moves. I have to sneak up on her, ready to take a picture, or I get yet another picture of wet Missy running around.

My vet is an animal hospital they have late hours. I asked if they had experience with small dogs and if they could keep a small kitten alive or a small dog. I check BBB to see if there was any complaints. Also others recommended the vet to me because they have used the vet for years. And also they care about the animal really well and baby talk my dogs when they come in and give them plenty of attention.
I am thinking about going to a homeopathic vet though in the future. I do like homeopathic remedies.
My pet girl is amazing. She understands what I say really well. She does all kinds of tricks and will remain in a stay position until I release her. She sits, stays, lays down, rolls over, gimme 5, other 5, come, no, get down, up, leave it, get your toy bring it here, and where's your tail?... LOL

Well, we have been using the same vet for over 20 years. I started showing dogs in obedience with a 4H group when I was a young girl and we always took the dogs to the same vet. I am pretty sure that I have paid part of his children's' college tuition, what with having a herd of five now. I have gone to other vets offices through the years, but always ended up back at Dr. Pierce's office.
A funny story, huh? Well, recently the cat and the dogs are in cahoots, so to speak, working together to spread mischief and mayhem. The cat will jump up on the kitchen table or top of the refrigerator and knock down loaves of bread, bags of chips, even a 1pound bag of tropical trail mix. Then the dogs rip it open and they have a feast. This morning I woke up to no bread for toast. Saturday morning two of my pups had tummy aches from the pound of candied pineapple and banana chips they consumed. Guess I need to rethink food storage in the kitchen. And of course the cat sits there looking at me like "I didn't do anything wrong" all cute and purring, so how can I stay mad? Animals, gotta love em.

Sorry you've been sick! December 1st is Louie's first birthday so we're going to combine thanksgiving festivities with a little birthday celebration for him. There is a local specialty dog store in the area where we'll probably get a doggy cake or doggy ice cream for Sydney and Louie. They won't be crated because we're having a very small group here (only immediate family) and everyone loves the dogs and understands that they can't have any scraps :) Feel better and happy Thanksgiving!

I actually went to Yahoo's local listings and searched vets. I like this listing service because yahoo users can rate the businesses. The vet I chose had lots of good ratings. Also, some people in my neighborhood and some close friends also use this vet's office, so I felt confident about going there.
Cute story? My dogs are always cute!
My parents were dog sitting our first dog, Winston, one time and my mom wasn't keeping a very close eye on him and he managed to chew the bill off of a duck decoy that they had sitting in their office.
Where I'm from in NC, decoys are pretty treasured items, depending on who carved them, painted them, etc. This happened to be a pretty special decoy to my dad, so my mom took a sharpie and marked over where Winston had chewed. So far my dad has not noticed....and we've never mentioned it to him.
Naughty little pug!

I switched vets a little while back. I was referred to my new vet by my hairdresser. She is absolutely neurotic about her dog and calls the vet constantly...
I decided to try her vet out and she is wonderful. My first test was to see if she tried to push the normal brand foods that vets are paid to sell in their offices (Science Diet, Eukanuba, etc.), and she didn't. I am also very pleased with how knowledgable she is, despite being quite young. She will sit there with me for a half hour just answering questions.

I work at a vet clinic, so I can see all the inner workings. I trust the veterinarian I work for, so I bring my animals to her. There is another Veterinarian that I highly respect, and I recommend him to my family members who live in that area.
My dog isn't usually naughty, but one day my boyfriend was eating Pizza, and he left the room to get something, and left his pizza on his plate, sitting on the couch. When he came back in, his Pizza was gone. He thought "I couldn't have eaten it already, and not remember...Could I?" I walked in the room, and I saw my dog sitting in the corner, munching down a piece of pizza..sneaky sneaky. I had to pull it out of her mouth, as she tried to swallow it as quickly as possible.
I have so many cute stories, my favorite is on going. My two cats pretend they don't like the dog. They ignore her most of the time, but if she gets too close, they will hiss and bat at her. BUT, when no one is looking, they will sleep together on the couch, grooming one another. It is the cutest thing I have ever seen. I only have one picture of it, they usually scramble as soon as someone walks in.

Well my chihuahua Toby, always listens to my mom. He also loves barking at people. So one day my sisters friend came to our house and he started barking and running to her, but my mom started yelling at him [saying no and such] and he looked down like a child being yelled at then slowly walked away in shame. It was so cute!
And another time i left the treat bag on the floor and he stuck his head in and took some!
Hes such a rascal but i heart him
Anyhow, on the vet thing, the thing I look for is how they handle the animal. And also how they treat stuff.

well i found my vet because he is a family friend. so that is y he is our vet. as for a story one about sammy is that when he was a little puppy he loved to play with our old cat. our cat was really old and didnt want to play so he just ignored him. well one day sammy like REALLY wanted to play so we went up to Kitty and he grabbed his tail and yanked it REALLY hard. Kitty turned around and swatted him on the head and made him bleed. sammy never went after Kitty again after that. another story about both sammy and chase is when sammy was a puppy we were getting ready to take him on his first walk. well we always get chase ready first because he is older and he just cant wait. well we turned our back for ten minutes to eat lunch and my sister had attached the leash to chase's collar and chase was dragging it around the house. well sammy was ready for a walk so he grabbed the leash and started pulling chase everywhere. that day sammy became the walker. it was pretty funny to watch
