I was just wondering, if I were to pay someone to drywall this room for me, the whole room including the ceiling, how much would be a reasonable price to pay? Thanks!

Wow, it you can get it for $600 you are getting a fabulous deal. You may have to pay as much as $5000 depending on where you live and the labor market. I would pay good money, though, since you want the outlets and door/window casements handled right and the drywall seams to be finished beautifully. You should be sure the inside door is sealed well and the outside windows kept open during the drywall sanding. Also turn the air handler off from the time the joint compound sanding starts until well after the dust has been cleaned up and allowed to settle or your whole house will be loaded with wetable dust - which is terrible. Block any vents into the room during the process - you might need a space heater to dry the compound but do not get that super-fine dust in other areas of your house - it is hard to clean up and can ruin a vacuum.

Excluding drywall materials, figure one day to hang, two to three partial days to tape, mud. let dry. mud again, let dry and sand.
Figure about 6-700.00 for a good job---depending on local labor rates. Drywall jack would be nice to have to do the ceiling.
Figure on 9-10 sheets of 4 X8--1/2 inch drywall for the walls and 3-4 sheets of 4 X 8--5/8 drywall for the ceiling depending on how the rafters/joists sit.

a licensed worker, that is bonded will vary a bit with the area. Though typically i would say $1,000. $500 for labor, and $500 for materials. They should be able to do it in 1 day. That is just for the drywalling though. Painting would not be included.

My husband is a drywaller and taper and he would want $150 to drywall it and $ 150 to tape it and have it ready to paint.

3oo dollars to hang and tape, it is only about 12 sheets and can be done in a few hours.

Drywall is not rocket science, call a friend who is handy and do it yourself
