That'd be easy--just point towards Earth's former orbit using astronomical charts and keep tables by the hour. Then using the plotted coordinates in relation to your location, face that way and pray. Also, this is current news in a way, with the first Malaysian Muslim astronaut. Now they have a guide for Muslims in space: http://www.reuters.com/article/scienceNews/idUSKLR33337720071006?feedType=RSS&feedName=scienceNews

from the article: Saudi Prince Sultan bin Salman, who was the first Muslim in space, had said that although he managed to pray and fast, he was not able to face towards Mecca and could not fully kneel on the ground.

I guess it takes time to work out the kinks.

Thats exactly the difference between Islam and the other religions.
Islam has no "ifs" and "buts".Its not based on hypothetical statements and assumptions. Nothing happens " somehow."

And things are not as bad as you put them. How many Muslims live in this world?? Out of that million how many commit crimes??
Not to mention that the London bombers and Sept 11 hijackers havent still been traced. Must say Osama bin Laden is cleverer than the american intelligence with their latest technology!!!!

They would likely still plot the direction of where it was and pray towards it, or maybe come up with an alternate. In the movie "Pitch Black" Imam still does prayers with his "sons" he'd been travelling with before the Hunter Gratzner went down. I think it's a cool presentation and then there's "New Mecca" in "The Chronicles of Riddick".

Since the majority of my prayers (dhur-isha) have the sun to my back, I'd probably pray the same way. I'm sure the stars would be used to help orient us. Allah (SWT) knows best.

Interesting question.
