You are sure to get many responses saying
"Rio de Janeiro " Because it is promoted so much in Movies
and Songs ( "Flying Down to Rio "---"Girl from Ipinema" and the endless shots featuring thw Carnivals )

Years ago I was enticed by an Airline Promo and went
there from California ---it rained every day---there were
no beautiful girls at the beaches---no places to eat
along the Beach ecept some fly-infested greasy--food
joints ---no shopping except souvenir crap ---
The trip to the famous statue on the mountain would have taken all day ---I visited a famous park ---it was
unbelievably dirty and decrepit with uncared for trees!
Visited the place on the hillside where poorest of the
poor lived at the behest of a local when she wanted to
show me a "shopping center" nearby---which had nothing
but used clothing ! ---A lady Doctor whom I visited told me
the local police went on raids at night to eliminate
(literally) the child beggars on the streets)
It was the worst experience I have had in 50 years
of seeing the world !

Any of the other cities would be better ---or go to
Peru instead !
