The climate is not static. It's either warming or cooling. Right now it's warming slightly, so what?

I believe it had to do with the earth spewing massive amounts of carbon based material into the atmosphere. This was a time when the earth was still settling in. Also there is this material at the bottom of the ocean that once it comes in contact with the ocean water it will produce gases in an amount compared to 1 month of California pollution. This happens all the time. They also came to the conclusion that when this gas bubbles up to the surface it will sink a ship because there will be too much gas vs. water under the boat and not support buoyancy "Bermuda Triangle" explanation.

The poles have changed before ,this means different places are getting colder than before as well as other places getting hotter ,
Check out the Piri Reis Maps that Marco Polo used ,it show Antarctica with out ice ,and fossils of tropical plants have been found there .
these maps incidentally fit like a glove over satellite photos of today (apart from the no ice bit)
what is a much more interesting question is who was in space taking photographs of Earth before the last ice age ,or at least before the South pole had ice ??????
Also huge areas of rotting vegetation of lush tropical areas must have had some affect.
This has no bearing what so ever .on humanity contributing towards the global warming of today

Dont you watch the news?
Global warming has never happened before in the history of the earth. It was the election of George W Bush that caused temperatures to sky rocket over 120F world wide in 6 years. The only way to reverse it is for the United States of America to Surrender to Al Qeida and resurrect Saddam. All republicans must be killed and this country taken back by all the other countries that colonized it in the 1500s.

Geothermal activity(volacnos etc.) released gasses trapped in the earths mantle. These gasses were greenhouse gasses they rise into the air and collect heat, this heats water another greenhouse gas. As this water gas cloud gains size, the amount of sunlight that can pass through the cloud cover is greatly reduced and results in a cooling trend. When cold enough the gas clouds begin to settle and the cycle can continue.

Generally, it was the Sun.
How do we know it's not that now? Simple, we measure the Sun. This is just one of many studies saying the same thing:
"A new scientific study concludes that changes in the Sun's output cannot be causing modern-day climate change. It shows that for the last 20 years, the Sun's output has declined, yet temperatures on Earth have risen."
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/6290228.stm
The bottom line:
""While evidence suggests fluctuations in solar activity can affect climate on Earth, and that it has done so in the past, the majority of climate scientists and astrophysicists agree that the sun is not to blame for the current and historically sudden uptick in global temperatures on Earth, which seems to be mostly a mess created by our own species."

Well i think so, because since humans have been living in the Earth, there has been lots or weird things going on. Since humans started to invent new things to make our life easier it has been ruining the Earth. For example cars, Internet and many other things. That's why the Earth is getting warmer and warmer each day. And terrible things have happened. The o-zone layer is getting thinner and and the glaciers are melting because of what we humans do every day.

lol -- global warming --- that's a good one....
Try natural climate changes. It's been going on for millions of years, your bottle of hairspray and your SUV don't cause climate change.
Remember: Al Gore didn't invent the internet either -- welcome back to reality

The Sun of course, even over the last three hundred years the sun has increased it's output by an estimatted 3 watts meter^2, more than enough to explain the temperature difference between today and the little iceage.
