ROFL, love thy neighbor kill those who I tell you to. Umm hypocrite?

Love thy neighbor, you can say God created Heavens and the earth. That would make anyone on this planet your neighbor.

And they bash Muslims sheesh. ( I am neither)

Micah encourages us to beat our swords into plowshares and Jonah tells us that all people are God's people and then Jeremiah tells us to take up arms and that non-Jews are evil and to be shunned. This is an ongiong process of a community's experience of God you're reading, it really can only be studied in that fashion.

And what I find is that Jesus indicates God is nonviolent but not pacifist. I mean, we have Jesus telling people in the Sermon on the Mount not to resist a person who does evil and then he stops Peter from hacking on the Roman soldiers who come to arrest him. Clearly reducing God to a simple thought or rule on the use of force would be a major undertaking.

And that task has been undertaken by many people. Walter Wink, Stanley Hauerwas, the current Pope, many great thinkers have developed theologies addressing this question. And a good, tough question it is, too.

Jeremiah 48:10 KJV
Cursed be he that doeth the work of the Lord deceitfully, and cursed be he that keepeth back his sword from blood.

This is a prophecy against Moab and Nebuchadrezzar conquered the Moabite Kingdom.

God said, "And Moab shall be destroyed from being a people, because he hath mangified himself against the Lord."
Jeremiah 48:42

Basically, I don't understand what any nation does not understand about what God said about Israel His people.
God said, "I will bless those who bless you and I will curse those who curse you."

All who come against Israel will be dealt with by God. God let them be destroyed except for a remnant the first time by Nebuchadnezzar, then in 70 A.D. by Titus and now God has brought them back to Israel and this time God said they will not be removed and the land will blossom. All who come against Jerusalem and Israel will answer to the judgment of God.

Using this scripture taken out of context it looks bad. But not when you consider He's talking to the Jews who were allowing Moab to live who was sacrificing children to the fire, among other things. Using your logic we should do nothing about Darfur or any of those in history that killed innocents on a massive scale.

If you can read the Bible to find scriptures to justify your judgements about God surely you can read enough to know when it's not a good argument at all.

The verse you refer to is regarding judgement of God on the city of Moab. The origin of the Moabites came from the incestuous union of Lot with his eldest daughter, who bore him a son named Moab. Many prophets condemned Moab for scoffing and boasting against Israel, and for their pride, arrogance, insolence and worshiping idols. As many times in the Old Testament of the Bible, God called on his faithful warriors to destroy and eradicate non believers. This verse, as written by the prophet Jeremiah, is one example. God even got angry when even the animals of a non believing people were spared such as when Saul did not kill the sheep and oxen of the Amalekites when God specifically told him to. I know what you are getting at. God is evil and mean, right? No one should listen to Him or maybe we should still kill today to solve our problems, right? Friend, before Jesus Christ came to this Earth there was judgement. Everything that was not for God or with God had to be destroyed. Unfair and mean, right? God agreed and put an end to it once and for all by one more death. The death of his Son so that judgement and the devil and all his evil could be defeated forever. Forgiveness now reigns and all sins are forgiven because of Jesus sacrifice on the cross. We all deserve judgement now because we still are the same sinful people but now, because of Jesus, we are forgiven and the Grace of God abounds instead of judgement. Instead of God telling us to kill our enemies, He now commands us to love our enemies. Instead of fighting back, He commands us to turn the other cheek if someone hits us. You can have this same forgiveness right now if you accept what Jesus did on the cross for your sins. He loves you and is available to you right now. Pray to Him and He will change your life for good forever.

A god wouldn't deal with becoming angry over such a trivial matter. That is for the political and religious masters over the peons.

Two things, first we are not ever asked to kill anyone since the new testament was written. Two, read the new testament, we are under a different covenant now.

Once again you are chosing scripture which reflects a time of war for the isrealites. If you were a General of an army group I would think you would be pretty upset if one of your men failed to do that which was necessary in order to win the war.

Cause they're not following his orders, and because Israel had the tendency to be invaded by pretty much everybody back then, so not fighting back was a stupid thing to do.

Jeez, why do you keep taking quotes out of context?

ahhh, yes! Militancy is the way to go! You should preach but not practice, be tolerant to those only like you, waste your intelligence. Dude, you got no idea how cool it is to pretend to be peaceful yet cause so much mischief! Screw logical thought and progress for humanity!
