i have been on this skin routine for about 4 days now, where i drink lots of water, drink no milk, eat kiwi's and do other such things to try to get rid of my acne. it doesn't seem to be working though, should i allow longer for it to potentially work? or does this sort of stuff never work ?

Also i want to know, could the way i see my spots my somewhat physcological, i.e. i think its worse than it really is ?

I would give it awhile longer... If you've changed your diet routine it's going to take about a month to see any positive results.. Your skin in fact may break out a bit more due to the change.. Just keep it up. Also, try washing your face with a mild cleanser 2x a day, exfoliate 1-2x a week. I have sensitive skin so I use baking soda mixed with my facial cleanser... I also tone my skin with witch hazel with is mild/natural and alcohol free. Also, YES your "spots" could very well seem very, bad to you and no one else... good luck

How oily your skin is, most of the time, is genetic. I have really oily skin inherited from my mother and had to get prescription acne medication to get any relief whatsoever. If you're self-conscious, the thing you're self-conscious about always looks worse to you than it actually is. You should try using some otc acne medications, and if those don't work, talk to your doctor about getting a script.

Try proactive. It is a little expensive but it is well worth the money. It really does work! I am sure your skin really isn't as bad as you think it is. Sometimes we think that everyone is looking at our spots or acne and really no one really cares. But I know how it can freak you out!!
