My father was in the US Constabulary - Army of Occupation 1946-52, in Germany. He was one of the first Cold War Warriors.
I was hoping to get a recognition award in his name or medal, or whatever is out there for him?.

Was he an Officer ? Enlisted man ??

By the way he was not the only one who served between 1946 -1952, a few hundred thousand men were similarly employed.

Constabulary ?? I think you mean Military Police (M.P.)

As it was the Cold War period which did not seem to need a special medal as nothing was happening.

And I believe there is no special award for this period, so it looks like he would have just been eligible for a U.S. Army Service Medal if applicable

contact your local congressman.

It sounds like your father is up in years, and is proud of his past service.
Contact your local congressman. He would probably be delighted to present your father with some sort of award or recognition for his service. it would make you father happy and give the congress man a chance for a photo opportunity.
Here's the link, all you need is your father's zip code.

The only thing I can think of is that you send for his records and see if he was awarded a ribbon for the time he was there. Other than that, he was just doing his job. Nothing special about that.
