America's favourite huh. Well about 6 years ago, I rediscovered how good a real pecan pie could actually
be ! I admit when I was a kid, one was not all that crazy
about pecan pie. But man, once I got my hands on
that Georgia brand, from the grocery store, it was history.
Apple pie is still a winner, but lacks soul in comparison.
But hey, Mickey D's have a nice one, in those little
boxes, you know. Yes. OK. Are you guys ready ?
Which is better, pecan or apple pie ? Best answer wins.

Pecan Pie and Chocolate Pecan Pie are my picks.

I think I've been turned off to apple pies just from eating too many bad ones in my life. Either they're too sweet and don't taste like apple or they are too tart because the baker was too cheap to add sugar or health conscious. I've only had one memorable pie that actually tasted like freshly picked apples. After that, I've been turned off to apple pies... even when I bake my own.

My Aunt Velma's Pecan Pie.

1/2 box light brown sugar 1/2 stick of margarine
1 1/2 teaspoons flour 2 eggs 1tsp vanilla 1/4 cup milk
1 cup pecans 1 9" unbaked pie shell

Spread the pecans over the bottom of the pie shell.

Stir flour into brown sugar and melt the margarine with it in the microwave for 30 seconds. Mix together. Mix in the eggs, vanilla and milk. Pour over the pecans in the pie shell and bake at 375 for 45 min. May need to cut the oven back to 350 for last 20 minutes if browning too fast.

Note: Double the recipe and add 1 cup chocolate chips to the pecans in another pie shell. Yummy!!

Oh God defo Pecan Pie, I often find bits of random apple cor or skin in apple pie and I like things really sweet.
Damn I really wish I'd had more than soup for lunch coz I could really do with a big fat slice of pecan pie right now.

Definitely pecan pie. Yum
but the ole apple pie is more versatile... hot or cold with a dollop of custard, ice cream or double cream -take your pick or be really naughty and add a little of all 3 like my kids occasionally do.

Very hard to choose, but Pecan Pie wins, apple cake it's ok, but it always needs something else to make it a bit more tasty.

Down here in the south it is thumbs up for pecan pie. We have our own pecan trees and we make fresh pies in the fall.

Not fair! They are both wonderful. Maybe if it was a choice which to make, since good pecans are so outrageously expensive right now, maybe I'd choose apple pie.

Pecan Pie is definitely a better taste and so much simpler to make too.
