Well I will give you the full bit of information. I am 19 years old and my husband is 19 as well. We got married on July 12th, 2007 and well we found out in September that I was pregnant. Well Currently I am 15 weeks pregnant and my husband just left for basic training for the army, he is training at Fort Jackson, S.C. Well my question is things have been really hard for me to handle since he has been gone. Like I can't seem to stop myself from missing him! I know that I need to get over it and understand that he needs me to be strong for him but my question is, are their any support groups online or anyone else that is in the same boat as me? I need someone to talk to and I guess help me. Like both of are families are very involved with our marrige and support us but they just dont really help me. As in like support everytime I cry they tell me to just get over it! I don't think they understand I thought I could handle it but now I realize that I can't! Please help me! Thanks to all!

Contact your husbands unit and request that the FRG leader contact you. He may only be in basic at this time, but he is still part of a unit. The FRG can be a great help.
Another place you can get help at is

It may look like it deals with deployments, but you can call them and they will talk to you and get you in touch with others.
Please don't listen to the negative comments from people. Other wives and moms that have been through this totally understand what you are going through.
Congratulations on your marriage and baby.

Congratulations on your marriage and your pregnancy! It's normal to be emotional about your husband leaving, and you're going to be a little extra emotional because of all the hormones running through your body right now. Don't let your family get you down. I know it's a little overwhelming, but you'll make it through.
I'm not sure how far you live from a military base, but if you're near one you should contact the Family Support Center. They'll definitely have a Deployed Spouse Support Group going. Even though you're husband's not deployed, you're in a similar situation with him being away. If that's not an option, maybe you can turn to a church group. There are also some online resources. (See links below.) They're not quite as good as live and in-person but if the other options don't work out they may help. Hang in there!

that's not entirely accurate.. .each unit in the Army has a Family Readiness Group (FRG). It's made up of all the spouse's and acts as a kind of support group for military spouses. While your husband is deployed to basic you technically don't belong to a host unit but if you call the recruiting station your husband joined from and asked the station commander for the FRG's number there will be plenty of spouses that will be more than willing to talk with you. unless you're a military spouse you can't begin to understand what you're going through so stick with your "own kind". FRG is a very beneficial group, especially for newcomers. Give it a shot!!

Because Basic is only 9 weeks there is not much out there. You will find more help when he is at his asighed unit. But he will need to go there AIT first and that could be as long as 20 weeks. The recruiter that he talk to may put you with other girls like you.

As a retired army Sergeant I can understand, I am so thankful my wife was able to support me. But she didn't do it alone.
Best bet is to contact the Army Community Service aka ACS.
You will find them to be a help anywhere you or your husband go. Best of luck , My congrats to you both, and my salute to you and your husbands service.

sure, the Commanding officer's spouse commonly is usually a morale booster/shoulder to lean on while a soldier is deployed/in fundamental, and commonly they placed in combination a aid institution of spouses of their unit that support every different get by way of the difficult deployments and what no longer.. touch her and spot what she will be able to do for you.
