I'd recommend evaporated milk instead of sweetened condesned milk. I would think the sweetness would be unwelcomed in mac and cheese.

Buttermilk may work, but adds a sourness/tangyness that may be pleasing or not.

Buttermilk will work, it adds a nice flavor, I don't like buttermilk but it tastes good in mac & Cheese. Sweetened condensed milk is a NO NO NO NO NO. Use the latter for desert.

If you have it, use evaporated milk. 1 a can of water to 1 can of milk.

Buttermilk will make it VERY tangy, and I think that would throw off the taste too much.

Sweetened condensed milk has a lot of sugar, and is used to make sweet desserts. I don't think you'd want that flavor in you mac & cheese either.

Not unless you want sweet mac and cheese. Buttermilk probably would be okay.
