"Today's my Friday" means that the person does not have to work for the next two days, and maybe more. Like If you normally work Monday-Friday, but take Thursday and Friday off, Wednesday is "your Friday".

It means that for him that day was like his Friday becasue he was going to be off for a few days ( it will be like his weekend) as he doesn't work the normal Monday to Friday
